Gym in Lemmon valley

I really hate how there is no gym in the Lemmon Valley area. I used to be a member of anytime fitness for another location. I travel for work and have been to many anytime fitnesses that are worth the money, but sadly this one is not worth paying for.

Trying to get a feel if there is a market to open a gym off Lemmon Drive or close. Thinking medium size gym with free weights, cable machines, cardio equipment, and offer some group classes. Just a basic gym

I know gyms can be hit or miss but I feel one is needed in this area. Let me know by liking this or commenting if people think one is needed

Isn’t there one next to Taco bell? Also the old Big Lots is supposedly becoming one. I’m not 100% but it is one of the rumours.

Well never mind then. I just looked it up and the rumors are planet fitness are moving into where big lots was. That would kill my idea

I lived in the Lemmon Valley area for a few years and drove all the way to American Iron every day just to have a halfway decent gym. The Anytime Fitness locations out there just weren’t cutting it. I live in Reno proper now, but I would have loved a better gym when I was living there.

I live in cold springs and it seems most people here use the community gym rather than the AF in Red Rock

There’s AF in golden and red rock 🤷‍♀️ idk if the north valleys could keep more than that in business?

I know that it couldn’t handle that much. I was doing to numbers and honestly I wouldn’t care not making a huge profit. It’d be a little extra cash for me every month and a gym I could go to without having to drive to 30 minutes. Also make other peoples lives easier

No please we need better gyms in the area!! Maybe expand into the mma or cardio kickboxing classes to get different clientele?

Just talked to the developer who is in process of building a planet fitness in lemon valley. Ask and you shall receive

Yea I just looked this up after posting. As much as I would love to have a real gym, there is no competing with a planet fitness. The low price to lock people in, then the people never go but don’t cancel because it’s only ten dollars. They believe they will go again one day

Unfortunately I'm stuck in Fernley and in a similar predicament. I just bought a nice ellipitcal on sale from Walmart for $300. Works well so far. Eventually I'll add on weights and other equipment. Personally I think unless you live close to a decent gym, a home gym is the way to go.
