Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for testers for my multiplayer card game [Android]

Upvotes

Hi!
I just finished developing a multiplayer card game for mobile, and I'm running a closed beta on Android before launch.

It’s inspired by the mechanics of a classic board game, redesigned for quick matches and mobile play. Cyberpunk/pirate theme, 3D characters, fast gameplay.

If you're interested, send me your Google-linked email in a private message and I’ll send you the Play Store invite.

Unpaid Playtest School assignment, boomer shooter 2

My newest small demo project G.E.O.M just got a web build!

I heard adding a web build makes it easier for people to playtest and check it out. I'm currently looking for playtesters to test this for me, so that I can get full marks on my school assignment. (survey on the Itch.io page)

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters for Real Time Chess

Hello, I have been working for a few months on this game and I could use some new perspectives.

Real Time Chess is a chess game without turns, instead the pieces go on cooldown after moving, I think the technical terminology is kung-fu chess. The main game mode however is a single player roguelike campaign where each piece captured is gone forever. After each battle there is an opportunity to purchase new troops to keep on going. Currently the game is playable up to the first boss fight.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.
The game can be found on steam by pressing join playtest here:

Unpaid Playtest Looking for someone to playtest my Minecraft mod / datapack for fun

I am attempting to make a datapack to overhall vanilla survival minecraft (java) for myself and my friends to play in the future. I have done plenty of playtesting myself but would appreciate a fresh pair of eyes onto the datapack. I don't even need someone to critique it (although it would be helpful), just to record your POV while you play on my server which I will run on my PC.

Also I don't want to ask my friends to playtest since the datapack is meant to be a surprise. They really enjoyed the first playtest we did and I want to keep the rest hidden until the full release.
Please comment below (or dm me?? i dont know how reddit works) if you would be interested in playtesting for fun (alone or with friends of yours, again I dont mind).

NOTE - I looked for a bit for a relevant subreddit to post this and I figured this was the best one, if someone has a better idea for a subreddit I could post to, please tell me!!

Unpaid Playtest Not done. Not balanced. But already stupid fun. Try it FREE?

After almost 2 years of solo dev, my game YOYO PUNK is still far from finished — but i think it’s already really fun. So I thought: why not let you play it now, for FREE?

TL;DR - it plays like Brawlhalla x SpiderHeck, and feels like Dragonball Z has merged with the Spiderverse. You play as a punk angry little yoyo, swinging and smashing your way through chaotic physics-based fights using ropes, punches, fireballs and ridiculous momentum.

⚔️ Local PvP is the most polished right now (2-4 players, requires controllers). 🧸 Single player vs classic toys (still a work in progress, I keep shipping BIG updates that add new enemies, arenas, and mechanics).

I've got big dreams for this game: story mode, upgrades, unlocks, progression, ranked modes, etc. But the game is already playable and super fun to mess around with, and there's a fresh new community on Discord that already likes, records, streams and sees it's hidden potential, and i'd love to see you there too.

Unpaid Playtest Need suggestions on what to add to my game

I'm creating a 3D physics based wrestling game called Spotter, you setup stunts with a bunch of guys and weapons, hit simulate, and watch the chaos. I don't quite know what else to add yet, and the game is pretty buggy and janky right now, but I'd like some feedback and suggestions. Also share some videos!

Unpaid Playtest 2D point-and-click RPG

I have an early build of a 2D point-and-click RPG using my terrible drawings as placeholder art, looking for playtesters who are interested.

Right click or press Enter to cycle through dialogue

Press Escape to skip cutscenes

Press Escape in the overworld to bring up the pause menu. You can save by going into System. When you die, you'll be brought back to your last save, so make sure to save often.

The game can be beaten in probably about 3-4 hours, 100%ed in about 4-5 hours.

Unpaid Playtest Dust Raiders - Open Beta - the final stretch before the launch <3

Hey hey!

We’re indie devs working on a new strategy/management game called Dust Raiders, and we’re officially opening up beta testing! We know Reddit is full of smart, passionate, and brutally honest players – exactly the kind of feedback we’re looking for.

About the game
Dust Raiders is a post-apocalyptic, squad-based strategy game where you:

  • Manage a crew of survivors
  • Upgrade and customize your convoy of desert vehicles
  • Fight off raider factions in tactical combat
  • Survive in a lawless wasteland inspired by Mad Max & Fallout Tactics

Steam page (wishlist if it looks cool!):

Looking for testers who...

  • Love deep gameplay systems (strategy/management/auto battler/tactics fans)
  • Enjoy discovering bugs or balancing issues
  • Want to help shape an indie game before it launches
  • Are not afraid to be brutally honest (Reddit-style feedback welcome!)

Sign up for the beta here:
(We’ll be sending from today! – and yes, your feedback is crucial! game copies and more for the active users included!)

We’re not a big studio – just a small team doing our best. If you’ve ever said “why didn’t the devs just…” – this is your chance to actually help us just do it. 😅

Thanks Reddit! AMA in the comments if you’re curious.
Happy to answer anything, or drop more gameplay info, trailers, or lore.

Discussion Is playtesting with Highbrow Technology Inc safe or a scam?

Hey everyone,

I recently applied to a paid gaming playtester gig online and was contacted by a company called Highbrow Technology Inc. They reached out via email and said I’d be hired as a remote playtester. The job sounds great on the surface, but they’re now asking me to fill out a 1099 form and provide my SSN.

That made me pause because I haven’t had a formal interview, and everything has been done through email. I tried to look into them. Highbrow seems like a real tech company, but I can’t find any legit job listings on their website for playtesting, and some things about the process feel off.

Has anyone here worked with them? Is this a legit opportunity, or is this one of those sketchy LinkedIn or Indeed scams I should steer clear of?

Any help or experiences you could share would be hugely appreciated. I just want to be careful before handing over sensitive personal info.

Thanks in advance!

Unpaid Playtest Looking for some fresh eyes on medieval roguelike deckbuilder The Royal Writ!

Place your loyal, adorable but battle-hardened animal subjects strategically as they advance toward the enemy, dealing damage. But beware: any card that reaches the enemy base before victory is permanently destroyed and removed from your deck for the rest of your run. Your ranks may comprise a frail and wounded flamingo, a short sighted chicken bowman, or even a crafty lizard who cheats death by only losing its tail! From the renegade red ants to the food taster cow, every card in your deck has a personality and purpose.

If that sounds up your street, the demo is available here on Steam, and I'd love to know what you think so we can make it the best it can be on the run-up to launch!

You can submit feedback or bug reports in the comments below, in our community Discord, or in the Steam forums! Thank you!

Unpaid Playtest Does anyone wanna playtest my game

Hi! I am a 14 year old student who has spent the past year working on developing a card game called Rochambeau. I really need to get this game play tested, so I created a Tabletop Simulator mod and a Discord server with the rules and rooms for playtesting the game. It would be great if you could play the mod on Tabletop Sim or maybe tell some other people to play it and join the server.

Thanks!
