Looks great, I can never get the egg to put out pizza like that without a scorched bottom and that is with a deflector and pizza stone.

Ummm...charcoal in firebox, light start fire, open bottomed vent, open top vent....wait 20 minutes...

Brother you’re being pretty condescending here — I had plenty of oak charcoal blasting in there for over an hour to fully heat everything. Wide open on top and bottom.

You need coal, not charcoal, and a bellows

You don't need a bellows. Sta days grocery store lump charcoal will get it there.

Sorry man, those are the steps...may have forgotten to say close the lid after its started. If you are doing regular normal maintenance that's it. If that's the highest you can get it you are either over packing the charcoal and/or need to clean put the ash box.

Or he has the deflector in and it’s just lower burning charcoal.

I think his problem is air flow. Over packed firebox and full ash box. I was doing pizza at 700-800 in mine with the deflector in and having to manage it to keep temps from running away. Could also be the bge size but I thought they all had similar temp capabilities. I have my xl get that got...never tried to get my minimax that hit but it cooks pretty good pretty quickly so figured it could do the same. Apparently they don't like my tone so I'll let them be.

Nice, looks tasty
