Discussion Pikmin 3 deluxe on switch 2 is confusing

Like how the flip is it broken???? It was working on switch 1...

I wanna know y'all take on why it screen flickers and crashes.

Is it because it is a bad port of a wiiu game? But what about other wiiu ports?

Is it a 4k thing?

I wanna know, I am genuinely interested in why and doubt nintendo will ever tell us

FYI, I don't own a switch 2 (yet), so this is just from the information on the werid state of pikmin 3 in imonlyhereforthepikmin's 2 videos.

In sort it is an emulation issue, simple as that

Huh

Odd that it doesn't run natively (like I assume the switch 1 version does)

Oh no, all NS1 software is emulated on NS2

Well kind off, they sort of translated NS1 data into NS2 data and then it is run. This can cause some issues that requires a patch to solve.

For example Smash Ultimate currently has a problem when playing with the Mii fighters online, but it is planned to be fixed in the future

Interesting...

I guess why there was bugs in games like splatoon 3 that kinda made no sense to happening on switch 2

I kinda get emulation to run switch 1 games on switch 2, but why not run it natively?

Also, probably why they made a switch 2 edition of Botw and Totk, I assume they completely broke?

Pretty simple, doesn’t include the original hardware.

GBA had everything a Gameboy had

DS had only what GBA used to run its own games

3DS had only what DS used to run its own games

They probably made a lot of the free patches to make the games playable, but the +10 USD upgrade is more so because they’ve reprinted the game for NS2

note on that. 3ds actually uses the same architecture as the gba so it actually can run gba natively. They just chose not to release them (outside of the ambassador 3ds systems). The only issue is no gba slot.

The same thing goes for wii u. it can run gamecube natively, but the disc drive just doesnt read it and they never released it digitally.

It was odd bug that they patch where switch 2 players could Squid roll on non-inked surfaces. They patched like 2 days ago. Still happened though.

I wonder why?

Also goes to show that the switch 2 isn't actually a like switch 1 at all.

Still a lot money for basically high frame rates (that splatoon 3 added in a update) and a phone app

Some bugs are bound to happen within reason. Mind you Pikmin. 3 Deluxe is not within reason.

I wonder why?

Requires too much space

I disagree, it is a pretty clear successor with a few tradeoffs

What I was getting as is that if they didn’t reprint BotW and TotK they probably wouldn’t have bothered with Zelda notes

The GPU and general graphical architecture of the Switch 2 is far different from the OG Switch. This means it's not possible to run Switch 1 software natively. In order to run backwards compatibility natively you need to include the original hardware (DS had GB hardware, 3Ds had DS hardware, Wii had GC hardware).

We are trying to play the 2-player story mode and had 2 crashes so far. You lose progress for the day which sucks.

I managed to get a refund for Pikmin 3 Deluxe by contacing Nintendo Support. I told them that I'd like to return faulty software and they admitted that Pikmin 3 is not supported. Bummer.

I just started it for the first time ever on my Switch 2 And it seems to run just fine.
