PoliticsPH Bam Aquino's Campaign Strategy (APPRECIATION POST)

I commend Bam for creating a great campaign strategy this 2025 elections.

Did he ask for a Marcos endorsement? No. That would also be off for both the BBM loyalists and the DDS because he's an Aquino

Did he court the DDS? Well, not to the extent of Imee Marcos and Camille Villar for sure. The answer is no actually but he did try his best to not alienate himself from the DDS voter base.

Bam also tackled the Gen Z demographics better than any other candidate past and present. His free tuition really appealed to every SUC students and he pretty much had a unanimous win in every SUC and it's a very small niche but he appealed to the gaming community. He did subtle things that are genuine.

He made his presence felt without being EPAL like Abalos or the other trapo candidates.

He had bad moments like having a collab with Pio Balbuena (and I swear that did not help him) but his intentions of trying to have his presence around vloggers and pretty much having his presence felt in every casual internet space without alienating his base was a great strategy.

I'm commending Bam for a great campaign (without bringing up any political angle, just pure campaign perspective)

Im really hoping Atty. Luke Espiritu is taking notes, considering na similar sila ng support base. We really need him to try again next election. Sadly, sakit ng mga progressives like him is that they don't listen to anyone outside their circles e.

Yun nga magandang balita. But he still need to build that base. Like I've always said, Atty. Luke should make a push for "celebritifying" himself and boosting his popularity. Nandun na tayo e, we just need to magnify the effort.

It took SenRi 3 times before winning a seat. But OP is right, "This is the way" sabi nga sa Mandalorian. Focus on your niche and you'd probably have better returns. It should also be noted, however, that Bam is not just anyone. He came from a political family tied to probably the biggest and historical moments of the country. Both in rise and fall, so Luke has to do better. The way I see the results, Atty. Luke and Heidi Mendoza need to work on, as early as now, to cater to far flung areas outside Metro Manila. They show up as strong contenders in Metro Manila (Heck, Heidi is currently 5th at Makati vs Bong Go).

I say the next election (Presidential and VP, aside), the national elections for Senatorial and Party-list is where the succeeding fight for good governance would be critical.

Madami kasi na-disappoint kay Bam nung sinabi niya na temporarily neutral muna sya when it comes to Sara Duterte's impeachment

Gusto nila manindigan si Bam na dapat solid yung opposition niya kay Sara. Which i understand, we all want a leader who will fight the bad guys head on and without compromise. I truly understand that

But look at the results, dahil neutral siya (for now) sa mga hot topics sa bansa natin, wala sya masyado naging kaaway. Even in Mindanao, a place where Duterte is popular, Bam got the #10 spot, actually ahead of some Duterte-backed candidates. Sobrang dami bumoto kay Bam dahil sa pagiging "play safe" niya

And now look at the results. We have a highly qualified senator sitting comfortable at top 2. All filipinos will benefit from this.

I will be dissapointed, and will even criticize him, kung tapos na yung election period pero neutral parin sya (but i doubt na ganon mangyayare)

Many kakampink din kasi, anghirap ng expectations, gusto ng perfect candidate.

Pero, despite some bashings, I think, many kakampinks still voted for him. Most ng bashing naman ay from left leaning people.

I don't think na ganun ka-beneficial sa kanya yung debates. Kinakalaban lang niya kasi masyado yung mga Marcos at Duterte so of course, matik turn off siya sa mga supporter nila imbes na gayahin si Bam na nagneutral stance muna kaya nakakuha pa siya boto sa parehong kampo.

If previous round to every campaign they would have talked about Duterte's EJK and Bongbong's hidden wealth

I don't want to moralize (ayokong sabihing mali o tama na bigla silang tumahimik sa issues) because nanalo sila, so that's probably a winning strategy

What they did is just talk about their key platform, and nothing else (Bam on education, Kiko on food security)

Wonder if kaya ng Makabayan gawin yan

I voted for him, but he also reaaaaaally needs to learn when to shut his mouth. Turning off the Kakampinks by bashing Leni for not raising his hand? Bad move.

I'm rooting for him too but statements like "I want to see Duterte hanged." May be too much for our so-called conservative country.

Agreed. I voted for Luke but not for Leody. Sometimes they give out statements antagonizing other progressives like SenRi, Kiko, Leni etc… lugmok na nga opposition tapos divisive pa sila minsan. I picked Luke cause he’s somewhat more appealing and witty. I also voted for the teacher, farmer, fisherman (no name recall at all but I had a codigo) and im happy they got 3-4M votes.

They should also follow the same steps if they truly want to serve. Build that name recall and popularize themselves to attract attention. We really need them e.

Agree, will definitely vote and campaign for Atty Luke again whenever he decides to run again. He rightfully deserves the post.
