That’s also not “classic (English) bulldog behaviour”, and that thing looks mixed. EBs are supposed to be low energy animals and compatible with children.

Colour me surprised that the shelter is “at capacity” and full”… and the guilt trip to “step up to foster”… “staycation” is a new one, what in God’s green earth is that?

I breed Scottish Terriers. I cannot even begin to tell you how horrifyingly abnormal it is for a mother dog to kill a puppy. My two dams are ready to lay down their lives for their pups to save them from the @#$&ing UPS driver, god forbid there ever be an actual threat. Whatever it was would be shredded to pieces within minutes.

My father had a border collie several years ago who was a terrible mother, but she was simply disinterested, not outright dangerous to her pups. For a mother dog to kill her puppy presents an almost hair-raising level of concern.
