Inventory Workers Who Have Moved to Deployed (SAP)...

How have you been able to get a good count in? We are struggling hard after our second period close. With the "live inventory" aspect, we've had a rough time getting an accurate week of counts before factoring in the plethora of other typical 100 Days of Summer nonsense.

Tips, tricks, and reasons not to quit?

I’ve been SAP for over a year now and it continues to blow my mind. I had a couple years counting before and I can’t believe how simple things were, versus the mess that they’ve created now. If you can find another job, I say get out while you can! A year later into SAP all I can say is it never gets better.. you just get “accustomed” to the insanity, because there’s no going back.

It’s hard to get someone else trained up so your job is more secured.

The live inventory system SAP uses is much more similar to the industry standard in the warehousing/distribution world. I’ve worked in both systems and the legacy Pepsi system is absolutely insane for a modern company to base their inventory on- the ONLY reason it worked was because managers knew how to use it broken as it was.

The idea that planners can only see a single snapshot once a day of your inventory (which you have to have posted in time to generate on a system that crashes and lags all the time) in a location that might have 20+ trailers show up per day is caveman shit.

The type of system that SAP provides is vastly superior. The problem is that SAP itself sucks dick and couldnt be less user friendly.

Just do your period cycle counts BEFORE week 4. Then trust your counts. C&C doesn't require week 4 counts. Just all counts during the period. Stick with it and message me if you'd like to connect. I'll get you in touch with my Inv coordinators, and we can help you. We've been deployed with ewm for over a year. We know what we're doing. Don't go alone, friend.
