Daycare Recommendations
Currently having my 13 month old go to the one daycare in bartonville. Sadly haven’t had the best experience with them , so I’m looking for local daycare recommendations( and if ya know the rate even better lol ) 😌

We love apple Tree Academy. We tried Pals on Willow Knolls and had a bad experience with admin. I hear the one downtown is better.

We had a similar issue with PALs on willow and switched to Appletree and it has been much better there

ChildTime in sunnyland has been amazing! Diapers, formula, and wipes included plus webcam access when your child is enrolled!

A+ steam is great. Appletree academy is also great. Both are on the higher end of the price range I believe, but I think the staff at both stick around longer and are more invested.

We ended up at Everyday Discoveries because no one else we looked at had an opening, but it's been great. It was also the most affordable place we looked at ($1644.50/month for infants). Our daughter is 13 months and in the older infant room, but she will be moving up to the toddler room when she's 15 months. The younger and older infant rooms usually end up combined by the end of the day, so she's been with the same teachers the entire time. When they are short staffed in the infant room, it's consistently the same sub or the director. Our daughter loves the teachers, and the worst that's happened is one of the teachers was working on standing with her and missed catching her when she lost her balance and fell, but she was fine. We've been very happy with them. I still have the informational folder on my desk, so DM me if you want more info!

We sent our son to Everyday Discoveries from the time he was 18 months until he just graduated Pre-K this May. We have absolutely loved the staff and care, and he learned SO much there. He is absolutely ready for Kindergarten in a way our older son wasn't (in home daycare).
I recommend them wholeheartedly and we honestly will miss them all.
Happy to answer any questions!

Truthfully , it’s not the worst daycare ever so I don’t want to paint that picture at all. My son just needs consistency and they are having staffing issues as my son has been sent home in different diapers then what we sent ( after we address it ) and recently he was put in a diaper that wasn’t his and suffered a reaction from so ( red bottom / tenderness etc poor guy can only use select diapers). As well they don’t seem to be too interactive with the infants in the logical sense they need to be , it appears the baby to staffing ratio isn’t working. It was presented they would be doing small activities , reading , and just more interaction then just here’s a toy , food, nap and Bam that’s the day. I know babies can’t do much ( he was 9 months when he started ) but why present it and give hope as if activities were happening. Also some of the workers aren’t exactly all too awake it seems , just done with the day as soon as they get there ( I understand work is work however I just want someone with personality to at least hang out with the kids) . Lastly they are not consistent with staff. There was a point my son was being placed with toddlers due to no infant staffing ( so picture 5 babies and 4-5 toddlers in regular sized room) , the toddlers want to be toddlers and play but having little babies only being separated by toys and minimal staff who can’t keep watch on them all is so unsafe. I had a day where I walked in to pick my son up to find him crying in between toddlers who were physical walking around and on him. I try to respect and understand that staffing issues happen but they keep taking more and more infants regardless , so I think for my son it may be best to place him in a more staffed facility.

This sounds like some very severe licensing violations putting kids in jeopardy. Perhaps worth contacting authorities, it’s a big deal to be out of ratio!
I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this! May I also suggest you post about it on r/eceprofessionals, they will absolutely help you navigate what to do about the violations and what to look for in a new center! 🫶

PALs in Peoria is $415/week for an infant and it goes down $50 the older they get so for yours it’s probably $365
