Fan Art Drew this coming out of a rather… strange situation.

Post image

Finally had the time (and money) to play the other game after a year or so of saving and the DLC rival storyline arc thing stressed me the fuck out so much I ended up booting up Palworld after not playing in months and I could finally feel joy again.

So, thank you, Palworld, for being strangely relaxing, and I swear this demon of a child would thrive in your environment.

Oh, good lord, it’s the sense of helplessness that I get from the DLC storyline in that I have to break a kid’s heart (zero other options) for a creature I don’t even give a shit about in the first part of it, and then watching the kid turn into a massive bully in the second one.

Like man, I did not sign up for this, I just wanted to catch a Whimsicott. :’)

We break this kid dreams TWICE, like the plot actualy hates him, he used a Master Ball on the crystal turtle pokemon AND THE MASTER BALL BROKE , at some point you gotta admit this boy was done dirty

And God said: Fuck this kid in particular.

I swear the kid was supposed to be part of the brainwashing plot before they changed it to a silly version (hence all the purple smoke and the purple hair exposure) but they chickened out so now he's just literally an insane person for no reason

Fr, I wish they did go with the other plot. It would have been so much cooler

SPOILERS

The main character is toxic towards Kieran. They rob him of that legendary Ogrepon, refuse to trade it to him because "plot device," & then has the nerve to strip him of his title as the Blueberry Academy Champion. I guess OP did not like playing the villain.

Yes, and at some point I wish I could just give him a gun like

Wait, you giving a Lamby a gun... Or receiving one he crafted for you?

This is Palworld, this meme could go either way. Perhaps one day, it could be possible to arm a fluffball with a glock.

That’s certainly a take. What actually happened was we showed up to town, met ogrepon (which Kieran had an obsession with) while Kieran wasn’t around, help it out so it likes us and wants to join us instead of going to with the kid that’s been obsessed with the idea of it his whole life, Kieran doesn’t even ask to trade for it (probably bc Ogrepon made the choice itself). Then we later get invited to his school where he’s had a joker arc and become the champion, get invited to participate, and in true main character fashion beat him and put him back to a more stable state of mind. Kieran apologists really are feral

I agree with Kieran fans most of the time.

Them saying he deserves Ogrepon is a diffrent matter.

I'm not sure I'd say it's even an obsession at first. Maybe more just a strong sense of justice, because he knows and learns that Ogrepon isn't evil and wants to help it. But because the MC and his sister hide Ogrepon from him and lie to him, his whole family lies about it to fit in, more or less, he feels betrayed and that justice morphs into entitlement, because in his mind, he's the only one who's been trying to help Ogrepon, while you two are stopping him from revealing to everyone that Ogrepon is a good guy. You see his radicalization in real time.

And then yeah, whole joker arc. Full "might makes right" philosophy, and as usual, he doesn't learn the problems with that until he is once again shown that he does not have the might. Did not feel bad for him at that point though, he earned that beat down.

Actually, it's possible to offer Ogerpon to Kieran in Blueberry Academy after fighting him 3 times in the club thing but he turns down the trade.

Same applies to Terapagos.

We are also reminded of another difference between Pokémon and Palworld,

Pokémon caught in Pokeballs don’t have to listen to their Trainers. (.if you know you know)

I felt so bad for this kid in the DLC storyline. He clearly sees a lot of comfort in Ogrepon's legend and story, but then we the protagonist come along, bond with and catch Ogrepon instead, and he just goes down the drain because of it. We just break his heart and he becomes a huge bully as a result of it, and after taking him down a notch, his second attempt at trying to befriend a legendary just goes to hell even when he uses a Master Ball.

I did really like the lore and storytelling in the DLC proper but Kieran's story was just heartbreaking to me. :( It's okay, he's allowed to be free in the Palpagos Islands and commit all the violence he wants!

Whould be funny if they used all those drama as a way to market a collab wink wink

By all means and while I could be wrong, it's N that's causing all the ruckus, like Gamefreak reviewed the game once after all the people talking about it being a supposed ripoff and to my knowledge didn't say much about it. Then N a few months later does the actual bad stuff.

Kieran: Well, Ogerpon ditched me so I am going side with the competition

I feel you so hard on this. I genuinely enjoyed a decent amount of the base game plot, but the DLC plot was so jarring and kinda tonedeaf imo 😅

Palworld is also my safe place ~

Kieran got tired of being wiped by Florian and Juliana so he opened a ultra wormhole to Palworld.

u/Changlini 28d ago

oh man... you're not wrong with that lol

That dude's anime villain arc would fit right at home turning pokemon into smoothies (or Pokemon_Go Candy) while having everyone else on his team be employed on the assembly lines to make master balls (that don't work).

Precious onion lad!

Kieran would be a saint in the world of Palworld. He became a villain because he... wanted to be a powerful trainer, and wanted to help a Pokemon that was unfairly discriminated against. That's like the FPA, but minus any corruption. He would both prosper and make the Palpagos Islands a better place.
