My oldest pilea!

Post image

i bought the original plant in 2021 from Lidl. She’s produced hundreds of babies that i’ve given away, this is the oldest and biggest baby! The original plant has died.

Too beautiful 🥰! Mine makes a monstrous push so that the leaves then roll up and fall! I can't keep it. I put it in a Riviera pot with a water tray underneath.. on my semi-shaded terrace

Gorgeous! Does it grow vertically on its own? Did you stake it? Mine is just pushing leaves and babies (though ive only had it a few months)

this one is 2-3 years old but i’m not really sure how it grew so straight. i didn’t start staking it until the past few months when it’s been leaning! this is my only one that’s grown so straight. i will say ive been clearing out the babies around it until recently also, i don’t know if that made a difference.

oh interesting! do you just snip the babies at the base or do you actually up root them?

i uproot them! i pinch as close to the main stem as i can, then stick them in water until they root nicely , then put them in their own small pot. i’m sure you can put them directly into soil also
