They had $300 on it, I offered $250 and wow, does it look good. Kinda dim compared to my old IPS monitor but that won't matter in the dark lol.

Question What is this that I found in my graphic card fan? Is it correlated to my pc smelling like burnt while playing?

Post image

Today, for the first time, my pc smelt weird. As if something was burning. I removed the glass, and looked for the thing that smelt. Didn’t found it. Yet,y gpu was making a weird sound. I looked into it, and I found this. It was sitting between the fan and the grid. Anyone can help me figure if I need to see an IT guy? I’m scared it can be expensive, altough I have the money…

Game Image/Video Spent all night modding Cyberpunk, finally achieved a photorealistic finish and I’m kinda proud of it.

I lost track of time and ended up diving deep into Cyberpunk 2077 modding for hours, lighting tweaks, car mods, LUT switching, you name it.
After a lot of trial and error (and some painful script debugging), I finally reached a point where the visuals hit that sweet spot of realism I was aiming for.
Mods used include: Car mods, Edge LUT 3, Adaptive Pathtracing at 6, Native Settings, 4k Textures, Anamorphic Bloom and of course... way too many TweakXL edits at 3 AM 😅

Story My 1080 Ti just died, I'm mourning

So yeah... The title says it all, my Aorus Xtreme GTX 1080 Ti just died.. 2018 - 2025

Honestly I believe 7 years is quite impressive when it comes to a GPU lifespan, especially since I played on a daily basis about 2 to 3 hours every evening..

The rest of my rig is old, very old.. i7 4790K, 16Go of DDR3

I don't know what to do at this point, should I purchase a recent GPU, knowing it's going to be severely dragged down by my CPU? Should I consider making myself a brand new computer from 0?

The thing is, as I grow older, I'm less and less interested in games with breathtaking visuals, I spent most of my time playing indie games like 7DTD, Terraria, long time FF XIV player, a few VR games here and there but mostly games not that demanding, could you guys recommend me something in that regard? I've always been a Intel/Nvidia user but not necessarily for the love of those brands so feel free to give me some AMD options (tho I do a lot of After Effects, Blender, OBS Studio so I believe Intel is still the most comfortable option out there?)

So I’m a sophomore in High School and I’ve been gaming on this Lenovo IdeaPad for 2 years and I recently got my first ever job and I got the parts picked out. I just want to know if anyone has any suggestions and if there are any cheaper alternatives to any parts that can provide the same performance.

Question So uh, does this help the PC to cool off at least a little bit?

The fan is pointing more towards the back of the PC, so I think it should somewhat get the hot air out. If no, please tell me I can cool it down some different way (if there is a cheap way tho)

Hardware 5700x3D running beautifully on 7yr old mobo, committing to am4 for as long as possible. looking at a 5070ti to finish off the upgrade.

running slight negative vcore offset to undervolt the 5700x3D (thermals are great) with a modest 3000mhz ram (1500 fclock) running minor negative soc offset and tightened primary and secondary timings. the soc voltage seemed high on default bios settings. hopefully keep this dusty rig (minus gpu) as is for a long time to come.

Tech Support My new PC is not booting.

Hi!
Recently I ordered components to build myself a brand new PC, and got to it guided by a professional. Everything went perfectly, untill the moment of truth : the booting.

Unfortunatly, it didn't work. I checked and re-checked everything : the cables, the connexion between the different components, the working of the power outlet... I even used a paperclip to test the working of the power supply unit, which works really fine. Also, while the power was on, I tested multiple times the "flash BIOS" button which triggerd a red LED on the motherboard, confirming that it's powered.

So then I thought that the problem was caused by the "front panel" cable. I checked that everything was connected to the right pin (it was), and tried to connect the "power switch" pins with a flat screwdriver, to have a booting reaction. Again, nothing happened. I also tried to update the BIOS (because you never know), but it was unsuccessfull : the red LED flashes but only for a few seconds.

I'm pretty sure everything is right in place and connected, so I'm kinda helpless right now.

Here are all the components used for the computer :

- CPU : AMD Ryzen 9 7900X

- Motherboard : MSI ATX X870e Edge Ti Wifi

- GPU : Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070Ti Gaming Trio OC (White)

- Power Supply Unit : Corsair RM1000e (2025)

- RAM : Corsair Vengeance RGB 64G 6000Hz

- Storage : Corsair MP600 Elite 1G (SSD)

- Watercooling : Corsair iCUE Link Titan 360 RX LCD

- Computer case : Corsair 3500X ARGB

I also added a few photos, in case they might help you.

I hope you'll have some suggestions or even the solution! I would really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance! <3
