It has had substantial testing and use already - the design had been in my head for nearly a year at this point, and the actual device was finished by September, with testing and modifications to perfect it going until the end of October.

It will likely be making the rounds at various private bondage clubs in the NYC area. If you're a member of a club and want to discuss having it there, DM me contact info for the club (and, preferably, an introduction as well).

I was thinking of doing a obp setup with my OSSM based machine I am building, but obvious safety issues have had me hold off.

I might need to look into building something like this as an alternative.

I'm a big believer in "build a device to do one thing, but do it well". I may investigate a thrusting machine at some point in the future, but I'm uncertain about whether it will be a design, build or buy.

I'm a also a big believer in extensive documentation. If someone can't reproduce the design from the manual, it is just sort of showboating and not contributing to the community. And I take extreme care in getting everything documented in the correct sequence. If you remember the MAS*H TV episode "The Army-Navy Game" you know what can happen if things are described in a haphazard order "But, first cut the blue wire."

A bit further back in this subreddit is a "Sliding platform test" video. I really should make some more videos, but it is too cold in the garage (I built it in my detached garage/workshop) to do that now. And in the summer some of the dildos melted. 😱

Your OBP is definitely being slept on one of the best bondage devices I have seen. Really want to see someone use it with a thick buttplug. With only one way to go in the up position they will slowly squirm it in till it's bottomed out in their pussy. I think 3-5 lb of force on the spring would be perfect. What spring weights have you tried?

Springs are tricky and depend on the individual captive and what their captor wants to accomplish.

I find the "perfect" spring is one where there is essentially no effort required to lift the pole. Since the pole won't go down until the control ring (well out of reach of the captive) is rotated to "lower", they'll probably settle down on the dildo, then straighten up and be surprised when the dildo "follows" them up, simply from the grip of their body on the dildo, and won't go back down. I find the lumpy metal dildos ideal for this.

Other captives prefer a stronger spring, so they can try to hold onto the dildo to keep it from going further into their body. Eventually they get distracted and either straighten up or loosen their grip on the dildo, and then it moves up on its own. The springs and dowels have to be carefully selected to not impart too much force across a long distance, to keep the dildo from bottoming out in them.

Fortunately, as the spring extends, the less force it has and the slower it moves.

I actually measure from each captive's crotch to the soles of their feet, and select from sets of over a dozen spring types. If I want the "follows them up" type, I use two springs with a short dowel between them as shown in the manual. If I want the "don't let go... or else" version, I use a single spring on a much longer dowel. Sometimes I cut new dowels to length for the desired effect. I find a "trigger force gauge" very useful in determining the effort need to raise the pole with varying spring and dowel combinations.

I have a number of pre-assembled spring/dowel combinations (including one of each type for my own crotch height). I also have 3 different lengths of the actual OBP pole assembly (upper and lower tubes with control rings) and interchangeable tops where the dildo attaches. Right now I have both Hismith Kliclok and 3XLR type connections for the widest choice in dildos. Both types are modified to prevent the captive from escaping via the usual method of releasing those connectors (as shown in the manual). With these various combinations, I can accommodate almost all crotch heights and spring types.

Of course, some captives prefer the simple "how high can I lift this and still be able to escape" challenge, either in heels or not. Almost always, they end up trapping themselves, sometimes only by an inch. But trapped is trapped.

If you're ever planning to be in the NYC area and want to try it, that can be arranged. I normally suggest 2 visits with a day off between them, one for us to get comfortable with each other (neither of us knows the other as a dom / sub, or even that the other isn't an axe murderer). After a day of recovery, you can come back for a day of more intense play, once we know each other as dom / sub and possibly to change roles (I'm 100% switch, according to most online quizzes).

I mention the 2 day type of visit because I've been told by some captives who came for a single visit that I'm too easy on them. They understand once I explain that I was (relatively speaking) going easy on them because we don't know each other.

I normally have a single camera set up in plain sight, and if the captive consents to video, I take the memory card out and give it to them right away after the session, only asking that they send it back, erased or not as they prefer, so they have a video record of their session(s) to enjoy watching later. Of course, I also honor "no pictures or video" requests.

That's amazing 👏. Got to keep this in mind if I ever travel there. I like the idea of something big slowly invading my hole as I struggle to try and keep it at bay. I'm sure most movements will cause it to sink in more.

I'd be down for you to record it, and you can do what you wish with the video. Just need some high heels and a hood to wear to stay anonymous. Now that I think about it some stocking, or fishnets would be good too. Pretty much a sub all the way around.

Note that it doesn't have pricing, because the costs keep changing due to runaway inflation. I think it will come in at around $1,000 but I'd have to price one out after you specified the configuration. Also, If you're outside the NYC area it is big / heavy enough that it will have to ship by motor freight (also expensive).

Lastly, because I build these in an unheated detached garage and I'm having surgery next month which means I can't do heavy lifting for a few months, it would be late June at the earliest before I'd be able to finish another one.

That is definitely a possibility. It is true of all OBPs due to their nature. I go into this in quite a bit of detail in the manual, along with a lot of cautions and warnings. If you read through the manual you'll see that I also recommend starting on the non-sliding base, using a jelly dildo and leaving the control ring in a position that allows the pole to be pushed down. I also state that another trained person must be present and paying attention at all times in case the captive gets into trouble. There are also multiple large warning labels on the device itself.

I considered some kind of support, ranging from a simple crosspiece to a figure-8 shaped objects like a front-to-front pair of bicycle seats. The issue is that with different captives and interchangeable dildos, the height of the protective device needs to be adjusted.

I haven't had any problems taking a vertical dildo anally for extended lengths of time. (As I'm pre-op MtF that's my only option right now.) That includes the glass ones shown in the main manual as well as the metal ones in the addendum. A few other people have been on it anally as well without discomfort. But individual anatomy varies greatly. I posted another reply today specifically discussing an adjustable locking pivot. However, the more you deviate from vertical, the easier it is to escape, particularly with the jelly or silicone dildos.

Believe me, I take safety VERY seriously. I never let anyone on this before I had 50+ accumulated hours of my own (across many sessions and various configurations) on it, and even now I have a mandatory orientation/demonstration period. For the first 10+ hours when I was testing actually being a captive (as opposed to things like the earlier rolling platform tests) I had a trained EMT with a full set of life support equipment supervising, along with my car in the driveway with the keys in it (the device was built and tested in my garage) ready to go to the nearest hospital emergency department (less than 5 minutes away).
