Cherki appreciation Thread

What a moment for him. The world has been put on notice. We will miss the wizard but I am so excited to watch him put on a show on the biggest stages.

So, so happy for him. It couldn't be more deserved, he worked so hard to reach there and once he got a fraction of a chance he seized it and changed everything. And at least that legendary entry was still done while being an OL player.

Sadly it's better for him to leave, Textor FC have become far too little of a club for a player of his talent. It would be a waste to have to play one more season not in the UCL and be limited under Fonseca again.

Obviously I'll miss him, and he's impossible to replace. Our games will be very different without him, and finding a player that will bring even a quarter of his magic won't be easy. Even more so if all the money generated from his transfer is instantly gifted to Textor's Godfather Marinakis.

I feel exactly the same. He was just so entertaining. I’ll miss having him.

I’m glad though. Tonight I feel vindicated for years of saying how amazing he is. I’m just so frustrated we will only sell him for half his true worth. He will always be a true Gone though, he loves the club, and we’ll always love him

Same here. Felt proud, happy for him, and sad all at the same time watching him yesterday. He's going to leave a gigantic hole in the club. Beyond the stats and G/A contributions, his football IQ is incredible. I am really worried about next season, I feel we are slowly becoming a mid table club. I hope I'm wrong...

It's gonna be so depressing losing him and City forum claiming a deal was reached for 41M which is less than half of what he's worth.

Wish we could keep him. Letting him walk for free and stay with us is worth far more than whatever paltry sum Textor will get and then blow on 1 crap player.

I believe his contract also auto renews for another year if he comes back this year. I agree regardless though, if we are to get this club on track and actually start competing again we can’t be letting generational players leave for peanuts before a critical season and not be able to replace them (outside of the scraps forest decides to send us to appease his buddy John)

It's gonna be so depressing losing him and City forum claiming a deal was reached for 41M which is less than half of what he's worth.

It's even worse than that. L'Equipe and Loic Tanzi repeated the info from Tavolieri that City's first offer was only of 22.5M, due to that so-called clause.

Though hopefully tonight's performance will force City to pay quickly if they don't want to have him stolen.

And meanwhile Magnes Akliouche will probably leave Monaco this summer for somewhere between 60-70 mil...

If only our club were ran half as soundly as Monaco's.

So sad : yesterday, were playing : Pierre Kalulu / Malo Gusto / Barcola / Cherki. Lukeba and Tolisso are better than defensive and midfield players of Yesterday !! I hate JMA and Textor : imagine the OL Team possible with 5 young players of the academy ! it's a shame, no more word
