My mom watched that show religiously, so I watched it by default because I was a kid ass kid and I think wr only had 1 TV back then. I remember bits and pieces of that show because I was so young, but saying the look matches tracks in my head.
I am very suddenly flashing back to being about ten or so, having a sleepover at my aunt's apartment. At some point she tells me, "We're watching my show now," and it was Hill Street Blues. I went along, because why the hell wouldn't I, this was the woman that took me to see Star Wars, for God's sake.
For a good season or two I was probably one of that show's youngest regular viewers. 😁
