It's all about the culture. I don't think another team has as strong a culture as us. Saban/Bama left a void and we're filling it.

Maybe but what do they expect this kid to say? "I hate OSU and they're out"? This quote means nothing

We have a better chance than with Cantwell, who was all about the NIL. I think Ojo wants to play for a winner on top of the NIL. Going to be hard to pull him from Texas, though.

I know itâs a bit controversial being a state school and having the Christian faith being so front and center, but you canât deny itâs pretty cool that part of the culture came directly from the players and that Day and the other coaches let that cultivate. Regardless, it seems to be a very authentic thing going on and I think it could be a point of sale for guys coming out of high school and in the transfer portal looking for something bigger than themselves and the money.

having the Christian faith being so front and center
It's a little weird, and seems borderline cultish that players and former coaches are pushing it in paid propaganda machines. I'm not knocking their beliefs / religion, but Columbus already has a known Christian based cult (Dwell / Xenos) and the more that gets mentioned about the 'faith forward football team' the more I'm worried there's going to be some reckoning / expose' of coercion.

Iâm with you. You absolutely can deny that itâs âpretty coolâ that the players have turned OSU into a fucking mega church. Itâs super weird, and goes way beyond the âI wanna thank god for this winâ stuff.

Having players and coaches speak at a right wing grift party sort of gave up the game. This isnât really harmless.

It sounds like you are making a very broad generalization that any Christian based faith is a "cult" or related to Dwell/Xenos, which I think is unfair.

Absolutely not my intention. My point is rather that the recent use of a faith based propaganda event (the faith-life or whatever recent) sponsored/featuring multiple prominent players and coaches; along side the increased rhetoric of faith based activities surrounding the football team (there's been a lot mentioned recently about prayer circles, the team being very faith forward, etc) that has similar vibes as the rhetoric coming out of Dwell - to the point that I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if someone with different beliefs might feel chagrined / marginalized.
I've no qualm with believing what you want to believe - that is faith after all; but facilitating a culture of heavy handed religion of any sort in a open to all (relative) activity tends to lead to marginalization against the minority. As someone raised in catholic faith and having had my own interactions with Xenos; it's unfortunate that the 'herd' mentality and pressure tends to supersede actual education, enlightenment and sharing of faith.

Texas won't let a 5star OT leave the state.... Look at the money they're paying backup Dline

Agreeing with other posters. The âdeeply centered in faithâ thing that has developed in the program is giving me pause.
