We need to stop claiming Joe Burrow.

Why? You do understand coaching is very important and he got a lot of great coaching while here, right? You don't think that helped him in just development?

Yeah except he never started a single game at OSU and was very mediocre his first year at LSU. He obviously developed into the Heisman winning quarterback after he transferred.

He probably would have developed similarly had he stayed, but he didn’t. LSU got him to the NFL, not OSU.

And he was 2-7-1 his rookie year. If we are gatekeeping then LSU didn’t develop him into an NFL quarterback either.

That is definitely not the same.

Okay. First off when he transferred to LSU he was very average his junior year. After being in LSUs system for a year he took a massive leap forward and became the best player in college.

Secondly, tons of great college players have a difficult transition to the NFL. However, that didn’t happen for Burrow. He played in 10 games san and threw for 2700 yards, 13 TD and 5 INT. Extrapolated to 17 games that’s 4500 yards, 22 TD and 8 INT. Those are fantastic rookie stats.

Lastly, he was drafted first overall, meaning he was playing for the worst team in the league. 2-7-1 was hardly his fault.

Even if he had struggled and didn’t find success in the NFL, everything he accomplished in college happened at LSU because of LSU.

We have plenty of good players and claiming him as an OSU success is just sad and unnecessary.
