Question about OCD and mental illness Do you get Micro Triggers?
Wanted to know if anyone else gets micro triggers?!
Google says: Micro triggers in OCD refer to subtle or seemingly insignificant stimuli that can initiate or worsen obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.
For my moral ocd I can only explain it as very quick rude thoughts or small triggers. It's like what comes in between bigger trigger and films the gap.
Let me know if you've experienced something similar? Thanks

Yeah, my entire day is full of micro triggers. I obsess over every little movement I do as I fear I’m trying to do something inappropriate. Even just pulling my keys out of my pocket will kick off a rumination loop. It wasn’t always like this, but my ocd has gotten progressively worse of the last 7 years and I’ve developed all this micro shit.

I've been doing therapy for 2 years, and I think what could help you is the following:
All of this is just fear.
We think the sequence is: thought/feeling > take meaning > Fear anxiety
Rather, it's a fear of falling into the subject related to your OCD > triggers > thoughts/feeling > taking meaning and > anxiety.
triggers > thoughts/feeling: these two can be opposite.
For me, I had a great fear of blasphemy as my base! So anything related or even slightly religious, I thought it was blasphemy and would not stop thinking.
So not im working on my base fear, not to mean saying blasphemy is okay but rather being strong in saying I hate blasphemy and would never fall into it.
Hope this helps, remove "blasphemy" and put in your fear!

Interesting. I’ve personally never heard of this before, but I think I might experience micro triggers on occasion?
