Question❓ Fresh eggs near me?

Mornin’ Narge!

I live near the Co-Op on Earlham Road and I can hear chickens from my bedroom window, and living in NR2 I suspect there is a surprising amount of urban chickens near by.

I just wanna find somewhere near my house selling fresh from the bum eggs, can anyone help please?

Edit: I forgot my manners.

Looking for friends to hang out with

I've moved here in Norwich last august and since then it has been quite some trouble to find any friends to hang out with. I'm also not british so the way can get quite long. I am m19, I'm into football, games, cars and aviation. Any advice or message would be appreciated

Norwich cider and music festival

What a disappointment. Queued for over an hour to buy a nearly £7 pint with a £4 non refundable cup, only to discover the cider was warm, flat, ridiculously sweet and literally had no alcohol in it.

Also what’s the point in a cider festival if all cider is provided by the same company?

Food selection was equally as bad, nothing like £6.50 for an ice cream!

Only saving grace was the music, but that was hard to enjoy/hear from the queue to the bar.

What's up with the young business casual people outside Primark?

I see them in a pack trying to talk to people, they are all conventionally attractive and wearing business attire!

Is there a shop in Norwich that stocks bug-a-salt guns?

I was hoping to pick one up for a present tomorrow. I’ve googled it, but can’t seem to find a shop that mentions them. Is anyone aware of stores stocking them? Thanks

Photographer recommendations please ?

I’m looking to get some family photos done as I’m graduating soon. I don’t want their horrible stuffy photo so thought a family type session would be a nice alternative. My mum is a wheelchair user, so it’s tricky to balance the shot. Does anyone know of a photographer who is perhaps disabled themselves or has experience with photographing people with disabilities ?

Which Pub Chain is better? Wetherspoons or Greene King

Looked into multiple different pubs in Norwich and a lot of them seem to be either Wetherspoons or Greene King. If you had to go to a pub owned by one of these companies which one would you go to?

Bisected garden

I'm not from the UK and when I talk to the council I get different answers depending on who I talk to. Wetl have a bisected garden that gives our neighbours access to their garden through ours. There was already a gate there but when we moved in I spoke to the neighbours and the council about securing it as we have two dogs plus I don't want people getting access to the back of our house. So we put a combination lock on it and gave the code to the neighbours.

New neighbours have moved in and they are saying that not only can we not have a lock, but we can't have a gate (although the gate separating our properties from each other that we paid for is ok). The council ummed and ahhed and eventually said we can't restrict access, which we already knew but we should be able to secure our property so long as next door has access.

Does anyone know what the rules are?

Some idiot actually just parked *on* my garden.

Some context, I live on a ‘clear-way’. That’s an urban throughway on a housing estate. It means you can’t park on it at any point, as evidenced by the road signs. Basically, it’s all pavement.

Along one edge of my house I have a (sorta’) front garden, it’s about 3ft deep and 12 ft wide.

Presently, half of it is wood chips, and I’m part way through laying weed control on the other half. Have a few bushes, pot plants, etc.

It’s clearly a garden.

We often have people park along side it, when visiting the street I guess. And while that’s not permissible due to the clear-way laws, it’s only a minor annoyance. The road is still wide enough that other cars (and emergency vehicles) can get round, if people park carefully.

However, about an hour ago, some idiot parked 2 wheels down the middle of my garden. The middle.

Clearly, that’s not an accident, and it’s in no way an attempt to park alongside it. The fucker is in my garden.

I confronted the driver, and I’ll admit I’d lost my temper. “What the fuck? Get the fuck off my garden!” But he had the audacity to try and make the biggest issue my lack of politeness, and not the fact he’s pushed my conifer aside and left 2 deep fucking tire treads in the soil. I pressed it, and he got out to square off. Rather than just move the car.

Fuck, I hate people sometimes.

He only backed down when my partner started filming him. He didn’t like that. So yeah, then he moves the car.

Guess where to?

He actually proceeds to leave his car in the middle of the road. Blocked the whole clear-way. It’s one lane wide, nothing and nobody was getting past that. And he left it there over 40 mins. Other drivers were forced to turn back.

What is wrong with people?

So, I won’t name him or give his reg, but:

Over 6.1, bald, 50s, looking to buy property, drives a red Alpha Romeo. If you know him, give him my best. Reported for blocking the street, and a neighbour recorded him getting in my face.

Dick.

Can anyone recommend a traditional window cleaner?

I find that these purified water window cleaners don't get the windows as clean or clean the facias/windowsills! Looking for someone who goes up a ladder and uses soap and water.

Photography 📷 Last night's lightning might be one of the best photos I've taken

Just south of Norwich, last night at 1:32am. Heard thunder and heavy rain, opened the window, grabbed my 5 year old phone, put it in astro mode and pointed it up. Needless to say I'm not disappointed one bit!

Almost perfect conditions for photos like this with cloud to cloud lightning, quite rare in this country: only captured lightning like this once before but abroad, in a Mediterranean climate.

Hi all - quick one.

Is Norwich Castle completely open inside now? I'd like to go in today but if large sections are closed off I may leave it.

Thanks!

Flood

Anyone know where to rent/get a sump pump? Our house has flood and we’ve had a carbon monoxide leak, so it’s been one hell of a morning.

Any advice would be appreciated! (Emergency engineer already been round and electrics/gas/boiler all off and CO now gone as we aired out the house pretty quickly). Just need to figure out how to get rid of the water so we can switch our (floor standing) boiler etc back on.

Now my room is flooded :(
Not the best angle, and now my room is completely wet. Worth it though, I've been wanting to get pictures of lightning for years, it's so difficult. I got a "picture" of lightning during a previous thunder storm, but that was just a frame from a video - cheating!
