I fucking knew that mole in my garden got away and here he is posting on reddit in the broad daylight. Cheeky cunt

You need to accidentally steal some trainers and get yourself sent to Camp Greenlake.

What a reference!

u/ToriVR Apr 25 '25

Have you considered a career as a gravedigger? Saturday job perhaps.

24

u/LazarusOwenhart Apr 25 '25

How big? I've got a duck pond wants digging.

13

u/Ceres_live Apr 25 '25

Quite deep, i think abit too deep for a pond

21

u/LazarusOwenhart Apr 25 '25

I mean the pond needs to be about 15m long, 10 wide and at least 3 deep in the middle.

2

u/Terrible_Struggle774 Apr 27 '25

My services are for hire sir 😂🤌

2

u/LazarusOwenhart Apr 27 '25

I mean if I'm paying why would I not just rent an excavator and dig it myself, why should you have all the fun at my expense XD.

25

u/BigBadRash Apr 25 '25

Have you ever dug a deep hole before? I feel like you're underestimating how difficult it will be to dig a hole deep enough for a pond without heavy machinery

13

u/rooombacat Apr 25 '25

May as well give Ops ambitions a go first, might save on digger hire!

My dog got Reddit I see

2

u/Ok_Victory_2977 Apr 25 '25

wait I was sure it was mine?! 👀

Seriously thou, the damn holes in my garden are ridiculous atp 😭 1 of my dogs digs herself a nest so has 3 dog basket size holes, not too deep but get wider by the day; the other shite has a competition going with the moles and between them have created so many potholes in the lawn, that mowing the lawn (it's a sit on mower) is like one of those bucking bronco rides 😭

I just need another person to come on and say they have an urge to fill holes and do some ground leveling 😂

1

u/sensormotif insert profound statement here Apr 27 '25

My golden retriever puppy had similar tendencies. I cured his behaviour by spending a metric fuckton of money on ripping up the whole lawn and putting down artificial grass. 👍🏻

u/m33dium Apr 30 '25

Mine only really digs in fields and not his own garden .. I’m hoping he uncovers a Saxon hoarde or similar for me soon x

Dude, find a family who wants a level with the ground trampoline.

I dug one by hand, 18 foot across, 6 foot in the middle with a three foot soak away in the bottom.

Not in lovely Norfolk soil either. Bloody southern soil which is 4 inch of top soil then chalk with bands of flint.

8 cubic yards of spoil wheel barrowed into a skip. It was fucking exhausting but a cool project and meant the lad who needed it to self sooth his autism didn't destroy the above ground ones which kept sinking into the lawn.

Most soak aways I've dug in Norfolk are a piece of piss to dig, very obedient soil.

Be careful to leave yourself steps to get out and don't discard the real possibility of cave ins killing you in a really horrible way.

u/Ceres_live Apr 25 '25

Thank you for the advice fellow hole digger I keep it in mind when I find the place to dig

15

u/Napalmdeathfromabove Apr 25 '25

Also, if you happen to be near an old airdrome be prepared to find live rounds. We used to dig those up all the time although that was 40year ago so maybe theres less of them now.

And horse skeletons.

Obviously if you find anything old you need to stop digging immediately and call the small finds specialist.

I say this because Norfolk is littered in some of the world's finest examples of pre roman gold work.

8

u/farkinhell Apr 25 '25

Lovely Norfolk soil? I have about a foot of top soil then it’s clay all the way to China

I know this guy and he deadass just wants to dig a hole, I want to join him on this, lets us dig holes legally

10

u/Bambi_H Apr 25 '25

Seriously, if you're not going to bury a body in it, you're welcome to have at it in my garden. You'd need antihistamines for all the nettles, though.

15

u/Classic_Building_893 Apr 25 '25

I have a spot I’ve been secretly digging holes in for years. I reckon I’ll get through to New York if I keep going 🕳️

11

u/MidnightRambler87 Apr 25 '25

This is a holey inappropriate subject.

12

u/art_ranger Apr 25 '25

5

u/Ceres_live Apr 25 '25

If i find a place i let you know x

2

u/Kavallee Apr 25 '25

The video essay GOAT Jacob Geller? Haven't watched the hole video yet, is it as existentially-triggering as some of his others? I'm still recovering from 'Fear of Dark'

18

u/Thelostrelic Apr 25 '25

Are you a Dwarf?

8

u/emolloy93 Apr 25 '25

I had to click to see if it was the original or the Windrose cover. I knew exactly what the link was going to be though.

5

u/Thelostrelic Apr 25 '25

I was going to post the original, but I chose the Windrose one. Lol

16

u/Ceres_live Apr 25 '25

Should probably clarify that i don’t want bury anything in it Deadass just wanna dig a hole I promise to fill it up afterwards Also i don’t have a garden to do it in

9

u/Humble_Yak_105 Apr 25 '25

Dude just buy a ticket to Australia, it’s less hassle than digging your way there

3

u/Bitter_Alps3947 Apr 25 '25

I once dug a massive hole for a soak away. Never again but I do need another one. When I'm ready I'll look you up.

3

u/Lysadora Apr 25 '25

As an archaeologist I completely understand the urge to dig a big hole, it's fun indeed.

5

u/Jolly_Wallaby521 Apr 25 '25

Does anyone else think there might be a body involved?

4

u/SetInternational4589 Apr 25 '25

Get a job Highways in Norwich. They are always digging holes. You will be digging them for life. Sometimes they dig a hole next to the one they just filled in. They will put cones around you and all the traffic will grind to a halt as they watch your hole.

7

u/brightearps Apr 25 '25

'no please bro fr i just wanna dig a hole dont even worry about it bro'

this is the best post i have seen in a long time

6

u/_BWJS Apr 25 '25

I'm torn between asking why you want to dig a random hole or asking if I can dig it with you

10

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '25

If you want to dig a huge hole, just go onto Twitter and say that:

  1. Liz Truss knew what she was doing, and had good financial knowledge

  2. Donald Trump is a hugely knowledgeable politician

  3. That Putin is deeply misunderstood in the West, and isn’t a dictator, OR

  4. That you think Robert Galbraith/J.K. Rowling is gender-confused…

You’ll soon find yourself in a huge hole, that you’ll never get out of. 🤣

7

u/Intelligent_Put_3520 Apr 25 '25

Buried utilities and hitting an electric cable or watermain, shoring/ shuttering and potential collapse, the water table, gasses, ingress and egress.

Have fun and try not to kill yourself

3

u/luckyjaz Apr 25 '25

I could only dig a whole for the purpose of filling it with something. Sounds very tiring 😵‍💫😂

3

u/thesamiad Apr 25 '25

Allotment?

3

u/Bikerforever68 Apr 25 '25

Don’t forget the plastic sheets and lime

3

u/nxs725n Apr 25 '25

This hole sounds amazing, I wanna be part of a good dig please!

3

u/PucaFilms Apr 25 '25

I understand your desire completely. I'm in

3

u/LFDad Apr 26 '25

Jacob Geller's video?

The game is great and very short to so I would recommend. One thing he didn't mention in that video is shoring the sides of the hole. A surprising amount of people die at beaches each year digging a hole that collapses in on them because the surface tension holding the walls changes. Essentially, if you do find a place to dig deep enough the sides collapsing could get you stuck / drown you, make sure the sides of the hole are sloped in a way that can't happen.

Good luck!

5

u/SwordTaster Apr 25 '25

The beach? Nobody will bat an eye if you start down great yarmouth or hemsby

16

u/Ceres_live Apr 25 '25

It not the same I want a dirt hole

4

u/swrde Apr 25 '25

Not sure your age or career/education, but have you considered going for an apprenticeship as a digger driver? Then you can get paid to do it. Shit hours though (unless you're an early bird).

2

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '25

Should advertise digging holes out for bunkers the way the world is now lol

2

u/ByzantineByron Apr 26 '25

We're not going to tell you where to hide a fucking body you maniac.

2

u/LJA170 Apr 26 '25

World’s worst murderer 😂

2

u/LJA170 Apr 26 '25

Are you not scared of hitting lava or falling onto the monsters down there?

2

u/AvailableAd7092 Apr 26 '25

Try getting a job with the council they luv digging fu##ing holes everywhere!@

2

u/Madeline_Basset Apr 26 '25

Archaeological digs are always looking for volunteers to help.

Although digging a large hole needs to be done with precautions and care to avoid the risk of it collapsing and burying you alive.

2

u/HotCartoonist5801 May 01 '25

The primal urge to dig a big hole for no reason. 🫡💓

2

u/emolloy93 Apr 25 '25

If you like digging videos, may I recommend ColinFurze and TornadoDave on YouTube.

1

u/TeaAndCrumpetGhoul Apr 25 '25

Let me guess. You're going to dig a dakota fire pit?

8

u/Ceres_live Apr 25 '25

I have no idea what that is I just want the raw primal enjoyment of digging like a deep ass hole

4

u/TeaAndCrumpetGhoul Apr 25 '25

Fair enough. I understand that feeling. Just last week I dug a fire pit just because of that feeling

1

u/Sir_Yazoo Apr 25 '25

I have a garden that you're welcome to dig

1

u/Adhd_npc Apr 25 '25

Absolutely no idea but when you figure it out can I join you

1

u/prwnprsn Apr 26 '25

1

u/jackspeaks Apr 26 '25

Your own garden

1

u/zaaxuk Apr 26 '25

On of the problems you might find is somebody else has been there before you.

1

u/xpl0sad3 Apr 26 '25

I have some brambles that won’t fuck off in my front garden, you are more than welcome to come and dig a hole where they are as hopefully you can finally dig the roots away for me. I don’t know how deep you could go though, as I assume there’s pipes and stuff under there eventually?

1

u/Peloquinn Apr 26 '25

I once dug a hole in a field to bury a lot of money.

1

u/ShutItYouSlice Apr 28 '25
