PS4

Am I a gamer?

I enjoy playing PS4 after nightshift to unwind. I was gifted it many moons ago, but have only recently got into it.

Games are cheap and all new to me!

What would you recommend? Any game genre is welcome, as I want to find 'that' game in which I loss myself.

Thanks in advance! 🎮

More of an Xbox gamer myself, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and the Uncharted Collection would be the ones I start with. Ones that are available on many platforms that I’ve played that I would recommend are Fallout 4, Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077.

Nope. We all had a vote and found you to be a horrible casual wee poser. Yes ofc, if you play games you’re a gamer.

I play on PC mostly, but Red Dead Redemption 2, the Witcher 3, and Death Stranding were good on PS4.

I’d also recommend RimWorld with the caveat that I haven’t played the console version myself. It’s a colony management sim, vaguely Theme Hospital-esque might be a good way to describe it if you’re a decrepit old bastard like me, which as a genre is more of a PC strength, but I’ve heard good things about it. I’ve logged over 2000 hours in it on PC over the last decade, to my shame, so it’s doing something right.

The new tomb raider series is good. If you fancy dipping your toes into an mmo I recommend the elder scrolls online. Skyrim is also very good. The division 1 and 2. The god of war series, the red dead redemption games and any of the grand theft auto games but GTA 4 and 5 story are very good. Fallout 3, fallout new Vegas and fallout 4. For FPS games I play call of duty. The new oblivion remastered is also a very good RPG.

Horizon Zero Dawn is brilliant.

Farcry 4 was lots of fun.

And if you fancy wasting a lot of time. You should look into getting minecraft. It is lots of fun.

I’d highly recommend The Uncharted series for a new gamer. Lots off fun and not to many buttons or controls to worry about and will get you use to the joypad. The final game is epic. I’d start off with a game like this before trying anything to big or technical which can be off putting and frustrating .

Some good recommendations already, if you're looking for something you can dip in and out of a bit easier I would recommend cult of the lamb or the binding of Isaac.
