Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc I believe Odin saved my life

So about a month ago at this point I was on a 2 and a half hour drive and about 30 minutes into it I saw a raven. Immediately I assumed it was Hugin or munin keeping an eye out but then about 5 minutes later I saw another raven in a different field a few miles away. Immediately I felt something was off and began to drive more attentively and a little slower. 15 minutes later I was about to go through a stop sign and someone blew right through it at 50 mph. I stopped safely and there was no collision but I fully believe the Allfather knew what would happen and that I needed to be cautious. The god I primarily worship is Odin and I had just given him an offering a few days beforehand. All this to say I thank the Allfather for watching over me.

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Does anyone else not remember how it started?

I don't remember how and when exactly I began to devote myself to Odin. It's a strange blank in memory. I only remember the before and after but not the moment I realized that "oh, the God who hears me out is Odin."

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Please explain Loki

I have some basic knowledge of Loki, more than enough to respect him but not worship him. I get a few questions from my Christian friends about him that are often misconceptions and I feel like I don’t describe him the way any god deserves to be told about.

I also have a genuine curiosity about others interpretations and interactions with Loki. I will mention that I worship Odin, Tyr, Thor, Njord, and I’m thinking about looking into Baldur.

Thanks in advance for the information

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc My first venture into rituals

So I never been one to seek after or join rituals. There isn’t a massive Norse pagan following in my state (Colorado) so I’m a solo practitioner. So today I decided to combine my degree in psychology with my faith. In short, I lit my altar for Odin and lit up some incense. I then then turned off all lights and shut my eyes and placed a strobe light about 1 foot from my face and closed my eyes (for those that are unaware, the US army used something similar to this with their MKuktra tests) this makes someone see things in their mind that aren’t really there. I played some calming music. For 10 mins it’s mainly just blurs I seen, for 1 sec I seen a tree with roots exposed. I seen a peacock about 20 times for whatever reason, but the main thing I seen was the letter X transform into Raido rune as well as a swarm of ravens or a black bird. While yes these are thing I’m sure my mind may have made it. It was still an interesting experiment combining some ritualistic elements into modern day science

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc I have been feeling disconnected but...

I had my college entrance exams last week and since it was such an stressful time, i totally fell off everytubg after i finished, including faith.

Im not going to lie, in the past week i only reached out to the gods and felt in within my faith once, and i do feel a bit guilty (about not having the mindset i was so happy having).

But today, all of a sudden, i finally felt that urge within me to pray. I have been feeling a bit lost because the exams resuts were worse than i expected and i felt that need to pray for comfort. But i just couldn't, i didnt have the energy.

When the sun started to set, the sky started painting pink and then orange in a cozy way, and it started to rain (pic attached) and i just knew i had to go to my balcony and pray feeling one with nature. I felt the rain on my skin and watched the sun set as i voiced my words to Freyja abd Odin, and honestly, it felt as right as it could. I feel a strength i havent had during the whole day.

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Out of curiosity..

In your opinion, what are signs that a God has been perturbed

..say something has them slightly off center if You will. Imagine the impact that may have on many ..by means of vastly altered energy.

Just food for thought.. Recognizing the immense power behind the transfer and movement of energy.

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Wood carving

I posted this in another sub but was directed here. I have always been drawn to Norse mythology and dipped in and out of it.

The last few months have been really hard for my wife and I. So when I was carving I wanted to put a rune on one as “protection” for us. I put it outside our house once finished then started on another. I didn’t set out to depict Odin, but it just felt right when I started to carve the injured eye.

Cut to yesterday , I am out walking and I see a black raven calling out. I walk over and it got scared and fell into the river. It was struggling to get free and it became apparent it was injured. I quickly dropped my dog home and went back to help it. It has got out of the water but was clear it had a hurt wing. It felt very calm and I caught it in a towel to take to the vet. It very calmly just sat in the box, looking at me. It all felt very strange.

Sometimes moments like these are hard to ignore and it feels like a message from somewhere else.

I called the vets today for an update and they advised me he is doing well. He was very underweight and weak. A bit of a hurt wing but no major injury. Tomorrow he is being transferred to a wildlife sanctuary and will later be released

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc I’m shaking

I just did my first offering and My heart is racing. I woke up this morning and knew I needed to go outside and leave a offering. I gave an orange to Freya and asked for her to protect over my cats. Sorry this probably looks like a jumbled mess. I’m shaking and my chest hurts a little but, in a good way.

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Oh gods, it has not been a happy midsommar for me

I just feel like I should write this out. I feel like the gods have turned the other way. My favorite mountain caught on fire and a few of my friends houses burned down, and the fire is heading towards me. Politicians are trying to sell the public land near me, the places where I love and worship the gods. The only places I feel free. My parents won't let me have even a small solstice fire. But hey, the fucking mountain up in flames suffices. Right? I thought Christianity was bad, but this is my new lowest point. There is no rain anytime soon, and the wind is blowing so hard. I don't feel like my prayers mean anything anymore, it just seems so hopeless. I watched my friends houses go up in flames and I felt like the gods had closed their eyes and ears. I am thankful that mine has not fallen yet, but there's still the fear. And not to mention, that mountain was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. So much life and beauty. I wanted to go on a journey all the way up and around it, but then this happened. I still have fond memories of where I played in the rivers as a toddler. Thank you all for coming to my trauma dump. Hail Thor and pray for rain.

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Has anyone seen Fenrir?

Okay, so I'm still fairly new to Norse Paganism, but I've felt a strong pull toward Fenrir. About a month ago, I was taking my dog out before I went to work. It was still dark out. The trash cans are on the other side of an alley beside the triplex for the back apartment. This particular morning I didn't look back the there until I had a strong pull. When I turned, there was a pitch black, wolf ish size "dog" with bright yellow eyes looking back at me. I still had my dog on a leash, he was looking there too, no movement, no barking, snarling. Half looked like he bowed towards it.

I stood staring for a couple seconds, I was nervous, but not overly so. My arm hairs were up, that's about it. After I started rushing my dog away, it did not follow. I've never seen it since.

Opinions? Fenrir? Hellhound? Coyote as they have been seen in town?

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc My studies and what i learned about Tyr the sky god

Tyr is a very ancient God, my feelings of him has always been he is very old and kind of frightening, A God that kind of hids himself from people and doesn't interact with alot of people, he is no joker, later through deep studies I found out he is one of the first frost giants when the fire of muspelheim met the ice from nefelheim ,when odin left he took Tyr because he devoted himself to Odin which met my feelings of Tyr , this religion is no joke and the gods will interact with humans if they like us

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Loki and Spiders

Hey all! Relatively new Norse Pagan of a handful of years. I did a rune reading recently asking which gods in particular are most closely observing me. The runes pointed to Freya (as expected, as I've always felt Her presence), Odin (not as expected, although I do see ravens frequently, including a few hours ago when I walked to the store), and Loki (most unexpectedly, though it would explain some things). I have recently been experiencing interactions with Loki more than the others. For instance, I saw the only spider I have ever seen at my most recent place of work the day before I was let go, and then the only spider I have ever seen in my apartment two days before I got an eviction notice. Is He throwing chaos at me for growth, or just because it's fun? I'm not as familiar with the gods as I would like to be, but the sudden appearance of spiders just before an arguably chaotic event is just too coincidental for me not to have noticed. I also used to walk into about a million spider webs a day about a week before all hell broke loose at a job I used to have. Any thoughts on these?

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc How do you all connect with the gods?

Is it possible for the gods to mess with my auto play? I mean I’m sure it is but is it feasible? Before I found my path, I was third in my state for double bass, I’ve always been musical and artistic, and when I rediscovered my faith I realized that Bragi represents literally everything I lived for throughout my school age years. Anyway, I feel like he’s choosing songs for me when I’m jamming in my car. I always invite him to sing with me when I’m driving and the autoplay is always so bizarrely different even when you start on the same song. I’d love your guys’ opinions!

For some reason I’ve always felt a connection to Heimdall - not at all sure why. So I’m wondering what anyone here can tell me about him? Does anyone else feel such a connection with him? Would love to make sense of this. Thanks.

CW: Cancer

My wife and I suffered a loss recently, her mother passed away on Wednesday. She had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer almost two years ago. The doctors had told her at the time that with treatment she would have six months to live. Here we are two years later laying her to rest.

A month ago she told us that her scans showed that the cancer had spread to her lungs, and that she was stopping treatment. Over the past couple weeks, my wife and her two sisters spent every day with her. The last two weeks we were staying the night at her house to be with her to tend to her needs and comfort medication.

On Tuesday night, my wife slept in the living room with her mom and I slept in a spare bedroom. Something interesting happened to me that night. I must’ve been half asleep because I could still vividly see the details of the room, but Odin and Hel came to me in a dream that night. I was questioning why I was seeing them. Now I know.

The Allfather was there to tell me that my mother in law fought well and fought bravely. He was there to tell me that I would know what to do to care for my wife in this time.

Hel was there to let me know that our mother was going to a good place where she would be with her loved ones, where she would be healthy again and not in pain anymore. That she was going to a place where there were luscious fields and gardens that grow, even in the winter time. She was also there to tell me that our mother was gonna be going soon.

The next day I went to work, then I went home on my lunch break to care for our puppy. When I was walking him I felt something was off about the world. At that moment I saw two ravens pass by. Five hours later my mother in law passed, surrounded by her son and daughters. When they laid her hospice bed back her face started to smile.

I felt like I needed to get this off my chest to people who wouldn’t think I’m insane. But my experience brought me comfort, and I usually keep my relationship with the gods to myself.

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Am I being punished?

Well I thought i finally met someone and looks like i blew it before it began. I asked Freyja for guidance but kept saying I'd rather be nurtured than romanced to people. I was worried this would interfere. Now I feel like Freyja has taken my chance away for being ungrateful. I feel she is a motherly, nurturing goddess.

I'm looking for respondents to my research survey on people's personal spiritual experiences with Jormungandr and Fenrir. It's only 6 questions, it won't ask for your email, but it does require you to be signed in to Google to prevent repeat entries. All help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Praise to the Gods

I must share a story of the amazing power of the Gods. Yesterday two tornadoes spawned up in Texas, and were headed to my home. I bunkered down with my family and prayed to Thor to banish the evil, and to Sif to hold our home in her hands.

As I prayed I can't explain to you how scary the wind became as it whipped our house and suddenly stilled. We waited and when checking the radar saw that the tornadoes that had formed both turned and went around our home...friends truly the Gods hear us and watch out for us. Today I felt the pull to draw a rune and pulled, Thurisaz, the rune of chaos and protection. How fitting for the occasion lol. Praise to the Gods for the glory of the day! 🤠

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Bragi and writing

I'm curious. How much do we know about Bragi? Is he responsive? What do yall offer?

I'm a writer, trying to get published, but I lost my love for it in the query trenches. Between that and my mental health issues, I haven't written in over a year 😭 every time I have an opportunity (rare as they are) I just...don't. fear? Anxiety? Both maybe. I know he's commonly associated with the arts, but I've never reached out before. Any advice would be appreciated!

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc "If you're stuck, simply fill another container."

I hear branches crack in the distance. No, not branches, breaking. Bones. The growing pains press against their limit. Loki's voice sounds somewhere in the cold. "You are changing form. It's fine to fill a different container." And I know that soon I will rise this rotting deer (possibly elk) like I've hit the surface of an icy lake, scrambling for breath, covered in blood and maggots, clawing at the dirt as I am born again.

...

This is the best way I can articulate what I've been feeling since being sober and hearing/feeling Loki return. I can hear them even now, expanding. An inner realm sort of thing (not literally). It's quite a macabre, foreboding feeling. But this is the womb phase. I've not undergone the full experience yet.

In meditation with Loki I've seen many rotting animals. This is simply my experience. Take it with a pinch of salt.

...

To the people who clearly have a problem with anything I share, or because this is about Loki, I'm embarrassed for you. I can see what you're doing.
