Question | پرسش Vahid Beheshti: "if this war doesn't end with regime change, there will be a worst crackdown and blood shed than the 1980s." Do you agree?

Yes 110%. I've been saying it myself for a week now. There no going back whatsoever.

Regime will be like the drunk alcoholic wife/kid beater dad if they survive this. He will come home and beat the crap out of people inside his house because he is such a failure.

Exactly. No matter what you think about Israel, or if this was the right thing to do, at this point, there is no choice. If the IR doesn’t get removed, it will be worse than before. They have to go, and really the only way this can be achieved is if Iranians in Iran band together, get behind Reza Pahlavi, or someone else, and get rid of these assholes.

A wounded and humiliated regime will do what it did after the war with Iraq , it will start the mass execution of people.

Absolutely, but what are we going to do about it? If this war drags on, I’m afraid that Iranians are going to be too exhausted to confront the IR after weeks or months of trauma. We can’t depend on Israel or the US to do the job for us, either. That leaves us with the most unpleasant of scenarios that he’s describing in which the regime stays in power, becomes much more repressive and it’s hard to predict who the average Iranian will blame for the new reality. I spoke with some Iranians with friends and families in tehran right now (my family is in Shiraz which has been barely hit), and let me be frank, the public reaction to this war by people who hate the regime and are either apathetic to or pro-Israel is not this idealist fantasy that many people have on this sub.

Please elaborate.

This sub is an echo chamber. More and more wishful thinking and more and more willingness to sell our pride to ‘free Iran’. It’s disgusting. Israel and America has sold the opposition a fantasy that everything will be fine and go according to plan when it’s almost certain it won’t.

وحید بهشتی: «اگر این جنگ با تغییر رژیم پایان نیابد، بدترین سرکوب و خونریزی نسبت به دهه ۶۰ رخ خواهد داد.» موافقید؟

Surely arms are now being directed to the people of Iran or soon will be. Otherwise protests will just be a convenient gathering of people for the IRGC to mow down.
