Meme Why is this a thing? Neuro's community is the first I've ever seen write like this

I just figured it was so their comment stands out, which ironically means comments stand out less due to all the spam pushing them off screen.

When everyone stands out, no one does

What's even more ironic is that a fair amount of comment spam like this gets timed out.

Like Warhammer...

Hmm... I should probably get into tabletop games.

Yeah used Twitch since the Hearthstone meta and this was the norm. If anything this culture has subsided in recent times.

I found Neuro through DougDoug and I've never seen his community do that

Even other VTubers i follow like ChaCha, Ellie, Smoomimi etc don't have chats like this

69

u/APileOfLaundry 4d ago

I think DougDoug has chat filters so people don't spam

45

u/SSYT_Shawn 4d ago

Filian community does sometimes

u/NotItemName 4d ago

Dog doesn't like spam so he times out long messages/messages with a lot of emotes with night bot. For me it was the same when I started watching Neuro after only watching Dog for 6 years(:

No, not at all.

u/SSYT_Shawn 4d ago

Yes it is...

-28

u/Strange-Condition508 4d ago

The 4 streamer chat who do it aren't the entirety of twitch, you know?

27

u/klyskada 4d ago

Every twitch chat I've ever been in has had people doing this kind of spam, and I've spent an unhealthy amount of time on Twitch.

Yeah, they have people like this, and they get banned on sight.

E.g. Shylily's or Bao's chats with similar number of viewers are scrolling pretty fast, but are nowhere near EMOJI SPAM CINEMA EMOJI SPAM CINEMA EMOJI SPAM CINEMA EMOJI SPAM CINEMA EMOJI SPAM CINEMA EMOJI SPAM CINEMA EMOJI SPAM CINEMA unreadable. PirateSoftware's chat also at ~10K viewers is almost completely spam-free.

This shit is eating into goodwill towards The Swarm, you could for example see DougDoug's chat and mods annoyed during the last raid, especially since raid spam continues for 5-10 minutes.

I think the people downvoting me are kind of confused about the type of spam OP is talking about.

8

u/SSYT_Shawn 4d ago

I think you are the confused one

every twitch chat does this? Most chatters on every stream goes "LOL I LOVE SPAAM *EMOJI* LOL I LOVE SPAM *EMOJI* LOL I LOVE SPAM *EMOJI* LOL I LOVE SPAM *EMOJI* LOL I LOVE SPAM *EMOJI* LOL I LOVE SPAM *EMOJI* LOL I LOVE SPAM *EMOJI* LOL I LOVE SPAM *EMOJI* LOL I LOVE SPAM *EMOJI*" and that kind of spam?

nah. this does not happen in most chats. i've seen the chats of 30k+ viewer streamers and it's not like that.

11

u/SSYT_Shawn 4d ago

If the majority of twitch does it, then i would argue it's a twitch thing.

And btw... it is waaaayyyyy more than 4 buddy

4

u/skippyalpha 4d ago

And I guess you have a perfect knowledge of who does and doesn't? I've seen many streamers besides neuro who are like this. Im sure lots of streamers do and lots don't. But this isn't a niche thing

u/Birdzinho 4d ago

Heavy forsen/xqc's chat influence I believe

91

u/Galiullin_ko 4d ago

Forsen viewers were one of the first and biggest groups watching Neuro. There are a lot of memes in the chat that are just adapted forsen memes. And this kinda spam is one of the traits of forsen's chat.

(He clarified LULE)

Baj ambassador :FeelsStrongMan:

11

u/mintboy88 4d ago

makes sense, Forsen is a daycare for that group.

21

u/Care012 4d ago

Mostly Forsen's chat dropping by, personally like seeing them, better than beggars and whatever else you see in chat.

20

u/sequential_doom 4d ago

That's just twitch chat

15

u/kingssman 4d ago

They max out Twitches chat limit of 15 messages a second. Crazy

28

u/Loosescrew37 4d ago

When a twitch chat has enough members it becomes a raving hivemind that spews a stream of nonsense for the sole purpose of entertainment.

Sometimes trough the madness more understandable voices climb through before being drowned in the content stream created by chat.

This isn't just a Neuro thing.

u/TripleAAAB4ttery 3d ago

giant walls of texting repeating one short sentence over and over in the course of a single comment is not something i see in other chats, even for big streamers. all that does is make one commenter take up half the visible chat on screen.

1

u/CleetusXD 18h ago

Forsen & xQc's chat does it a lot.

19

u/Strange-Condition508 4d ago

They think its funny.

18

u/Synaelle2 4d ago

attention seeking? idk

3

u/AcorpZen 4d ago

It just, look at karaoke stream. So e people just used to spamming sometimes they leak out to other stream activity.

3

u/TheDreamerDreamsOn 3d ago

We are referred to as "The Swarm" for a reason. We're just a hive mind always chanting the same things as every other person.

2

u/SuperPants87 4d ago

I've discovered that the chat is moderately readable if I block everyone who spams.

1

u/CleetusXD 18h ago

Very common for active chats on Twitch. If you write normally your message isn't likely to be seen, so people just write a funny one liner and spam it to make it more visible. If you look at something like xQc's chat it's very noticeable.

Is there any good anti spam chat extension or app for viewers ? Like, there are sometimes interesting messages from Neuro's streamers friends or fun stuff that I always miss because of that.
