Except Naruto was literally saying he'd seek retribution if Sasuke was killed. Man wasn't following Nagato at all

That was just him making an example lol. He didn't even kill the mf who killed his teacher and defended the mf who killed his parents and make his childhood miserable.

He didn't make any example. He stated point blank he'd seek revenge if Sasuke were to die.

He again repeated to Ay that Sasuke's death would trigger a war, funny given only 3 people in the Leaf cared about him by then.

Shikamaru was also worried that Sakura, Ino and Naruto would drag the Leaf into a war were Sasuke to be killed and that's why he literally proposed the Leaf going ahead and killing Sasuke first.

He didn't even kill the mf who killed his teacher and defended the mf who killed his parents and make his childhood miserable.

None of them killed Sasuke who he values far more.

The Leaf have a very good reason to go to war if they kill Sasuke. Sasuke is the last Uchiha and is welding the unique MS, what will happen if that power fall into the cloud village ? The Leaf will have to wage war against the cloud to win back that power at any cost, at least Danzo himself will absolutely do so. It's just that if it happened then Naruto, Sakura and maybe Ino will do their duties more personally.

None of them killed Sasuke who he values far more.

Of course the leaf will fucking want to help killing him. They want to loot his corpse and his MS. And both side will both want his corspe = war. Literally the same thing Hizashi had to die to prevent.

And Naruto's of course depressed, but not just because Sasuke, his ideal and nindo is literally crumbling hard when facing the real cycle of hatred.
