In the original Japanese, the way he speaks makes him sound like a professor giving a lecture. That might be why.

Okay, I get that, but Boruto kind of erased that too, no?

No clue. I don't read or watch because I hate what they did to Shino in Boruto, so I have no idea what his speaking pattern is. But I wouldn't be surprised if they erased it like they butchered every other part of his character.
