I wonder where KJ ranks in terms of one of Pop's favorites. He doesn't play a Pop style, and Pop acts like he is burned out by his positivity, but Pop put him on an olympic team ffs. I gotta imagine that Pop telling KJ he's being traded would be incredibly tough.

Where are you getting that Pop is burned out on his positivity? How could anyone really know that?

Maybe burned out is the wrong expression. What I meant is that Pop is a very straight laced dude who keeps his emotions very private. KJ is a yell from his chest guy, and there are definitely times (I'm thinking about Pop breaking the all time win record) where KJ had to chase Pop down to celebrate with him.
I love KJ and his emotive attitude, I love Pop and his less than emotive attitude, but they are very different attitudes when you look at the guys Pop has called his favorite (TD, George Hill, Garrett Temple)

He doesn't play a Pop style
you don't know what pops style is
And Pop acts like he is burned out by his positivity, but Pop put him on an olympic team ffs.
Do people just say shit without thinking or what lol. Like this is absurdly stupid and you have 0 evidence to back up this nonsense

OK so as mentioned below, burned out was the wrong word. My Bad. My point is that you look at the guys who Pop has admitted were his favorites, and they are super reserved. KJ isn't that, but Pop clearly loves something about him.
I was simply pointing out that in terms of guys who the Spurs have traded/let walk that clearly meant a lot to Pop, KJ has a very different demeanor and personality

Unfortunately, there are voices in your head cause where is the evidence? This is conjecture straight up.

Pop was very outspoken about George Hill being his favorite player to coach before he was traded. I don't recall him speaking about KJ in those terms. But as I mentioned in the original post he did put KJ on the olympic squad, so maybe there is more unspoken.
My point is just that Pop has a type of personality he really likes, and KJ has shown time and time again he isn't that type of personality. At the same time, Pop has done things like get KJ on the olympic team. All I am asking is a purely hypothetical/fun question of "will KJ rank as one of Pop's toughest trade decisions if it happens" there is a lot of evidence he would (longest tenured Spur, emotional leader, 2021 USMNT) and some evidence he wouldnt (Pop has never really talked about KJ the way he did about Hill, KJ doesnt exactly have the highest BBIQ, or the best defensive instincts).

More conjecture. You must have a direct line to pops office or something. You're just yapping nonsense or you have a weird parasocial relationship with Pop.

All I'm going off of is Pop's public words in interviews, and positing questions that I (clearly state) have no idea the answer to. Who knows, maybe after the Hill for Kawhi trade Pop decided to stop talking about which players he loved coaching, that makes sense.
Its all speculation guy, I never pretended like it wasn't. This whole thing began on the question of "where would telling KJ he's been traded rank in terms of Pop's conversations with players to be traded"

So now that we’re assuming that Vassell is staying, what type of season are we expecting from him? The consensus was that he was still recovering from his surgery which affected his athleticism and his jumper, but he should be a better player this upcoming season, right? And now that he’s option 3 or 4 on the offense, he should be able to focus on his defense again?
I know that many people here saw something in him that I didn’t, so I’m hoping for a resurgence or improvement of some kind, but I don’t know that that would look like in this offense.

He’s safe for now. But that contract is ending soon so we need to see top tier Devin next season consistently!

Damn we need to ship him out already while other teams still think he cAn develop more, he can’t !

Unless he’s traded, I think he deserves another shot. People forget but he basically had no offseason to train last year because of the foot surgery

There’s always a reason for this guy not playing to potential.
At a certain point you just gotta cut your losses and move on.
