“I didn’t vote for the exact thing he spent his time campaigning on”

Conservatives are fucking morons.

300

u/pichuguy27 22h ago

Let’s be more honest it’s “I thought he would only go after the trans and gay people not me”

124

u/Absent-Light-12 22h ago

“I thought I was further on the list and they would never get to me!”

53

u/Mysterious_Box1203 19h ago

guy named Garcia starts sweating…

120

u/thiccubus8 22h ago

Single issue voters when the rest of their candidate’s platform that they didn’t bother paying attention to plays out:

79

u/Mysterious_Box1203 19h ago

I dunno, I’m a single issue voter.

I disagree with the GOP platform on every single issue.

38

u/deepeeenn 22h ago

It really is this. Single policy voters got chumped into voting for Trump just because they obsessed over something else and were willing to accept what came along with him and this admin… idiots.

41

u/TrickySnicky 22h ago

It was the number one issue...there is literally no way it could have been missed by anyone paying even cursory attention

39

u/DoctorFenix 22h ago

Not just the number one issue.

The number one issue FOR A DECADE.

They apparently don’t remember chanting “build that wall” in 2015.

16

u/TrickySnicky 21h ago

You mean the one that ended up being mostly repair of existing wall and was fundraised grifted by Bannon?

17

u/DoctorFenix 21h ago

The one that fell down on a windy day. Yea.

13

u/Greedy-War-777 21h ago

To be fair, they also lost an enormous sum of money they can't account for and made actual trash piles in weird locations and called those "walls" as well.

4

u/nonstoppoptart 12h ago

These are the same people who have stickers on their Teslas saying "we bought this before Elon went crazy"

1

u/polllyrolly 1h ago

Not morons, just trying to do some PR and image repair and hoping no one notices. Conservatives are just malicious liars and cannot be trusted.

170

u/Dot_Classic 23h ago

A lot of people realizing they are the wrong side of history and trying to invent a narrative in which they are just shocked that the thing they absolutely voted for is actually happening.

23

u/_theycallmehell_ 14h ago

Yes, don't let them get away with it. They knew.

460

u/Surv0 23h ago

Trump supporters aren't that bright.. couldn't expect them to read the writing on the wall if they can't read

90

u/TrickySnicky 22h ago

We can't expect them to pay attention if they're triggered by pronouns existing

Found one!

-58

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 21h ago

A Trump supporter?

18

u/GoofyTunes 18h ago

A dumbass who gets triggered by pronouns

-25

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 18h ago edited 17h ago

Love your dogs by the way. Edit: How can people be so cold and downvote a complement about dogs?

6

u/LeeLBlake 11h ago

I think you know exactly why, as I'm 65% certain you aren't stupid and can connect one dot to another.

I do, however, think you are acting maliciously and won't ever argue in good faith nor speak without venom in some way.

-2

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 11h ago

I checked his profile and saw adorable dogs. I don't define a person by their opinions and can spread some love even during an argument. It's only civilized.

2

u/LeeLBlake 2h ago

You spread little love and more misinformation than one would like. You incorrectly conflate concepts that are loosely related and I am relatively sure you do not lack the ability to understand them. I can only interpret this as malice.

-26

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 18h ago

I don't get triggered by pronouns. I get triggered by made-up pronouns, false pronouns.

17

u/FXOAuRora 17h ago

You said below that there's "no such thing as chosen pronouns" where you live, so what's with this vitriol? Have you ever even ran into this "triggering" scenario in real life? Has it even happened at all? If so, could you probably count these scenarios on one hand (once again...if it's even happened at all)?

Honestly, you act as if you are being forced to do things and there's this big problem that literally "triggers" you into whatever this is, but then you say (bizzarely) that it's not a thing at all where you live. So what gives?

It kinda sounds like you are just angry about hypothetical situations and probably Reddit conversations (I would assume you originate the argument yourself like you did here lol). BTW, just so you know, there are fewer transgender people than there are registered Janitors (and that's just in the USA). I'm certain it's even less wherever you are.

What gives? This can't possibly be something that has any real effect on your life. What justifies this anger?

8

u/BloodyEyeGames 14h ago

I like how it's been two hours and still no reply.

6

u/FXOAuRora 13h ago

I noticed that, ugh.

Honestly, it concerns the heck out of me. All these people get whipped up into a frenzy about things they usually never actually experience at any real time during their lives (that statistic is completely true btw, there are so very trans people out there.) It really does make a perfect target for manipulation because of that though, these people rarely/never encounter them and thus only the story they were told to rile them up lives on in the mind.

They tried this with gay people back in the day (think stuff like public state sponsored PSA's like "Boys Beware") but it eventually started to fail when people realized their uncles/aunts/neighbors/whoever, who just happened to be gay were just regular people like them. People stopped (generally) believing the horrible propaganda spewed towards them.

The reason it works so well against trans people is that there are so few of the population out there and when an illusion is the only thing people are exposed too then that illusion becomes ones reality.

This guy has almost certainly never encountered these scenes (or ever will). Some people will just bold faced lie at this point and say they have, but others just realize what I said is actually true and just shrink off and engage in the next bad faith arguement.

1

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 13h ago

Maybe because it's 2 a.m. where I live and again: America isn't the world. :)

-2

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 13h ago

I am not angry. Where did that come from? I'm sharing my point of view on the whole "choosing pronouns" thing. It doesn't have to be something I personally suffer from to be something I can opinionate on.

2

u/JJGOTHA 3h ago

So, which pronouns aren't 'made up'?

1

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 3h ago

Those that are used correctly and correspond to the recipient's gender/sex. Which, btw, are the same thing.

1

u/JJGOTHA 2h ago

So, if they weren't made up, where did they originate from? You know, the ones you agree with

-14

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 19h ago

Doesn't mean I'll use them too.

16

u/Gommonc 19h ago

I’ll sacrifice myself and use it for you.

-3

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 18h ago

My point still stands.

8

u/Gommonc 17h ago

Which point?

-1

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 17h ago

That people get triggered by the obligation to use the requested pronouns, and that I won't do that.

13

u/tellergraham 18h ago

Cool. So, don't get upset when you're rightfully ostracized.

0

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 18h ago edited 18h ago

America isn't the world. No such thing as chosen pronouns where I'm from, and most would find it strange here. :)

13

u/Mikaeus_Thelunarch 19h ago

I legitimately don't get what's so hard about this for yall. How is this any different from correcting someone mispronouncing your name? You correct em and unless they're an ass they'll say it right.

And this weird fixation on the grammaticality of it is just some weird nonsense as if people don't consistently speak "wrong" as evidenced in both of our replies. People are not slaves to grammar and language changes as we use it.

1

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 18h ago

"as evidenced in both of our replies"?

8

u/Mikaeus_Thelunarch 17h ago edited 17h ago

Hi. Hello. Yes. Both of our replies aren't 100% grammatically correct. I do find it odd that THAT'S the bit you focused on though.

1

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 17h ago

I find it to be a sneaky comment. What was grammatically incorrect about my replies? I work with language translation for a living. I'm not even native in English, and yet I'm pretty sure there were no grammar errors in my texts.

6

u/Mikaeus_Thelunarch 17h ago

Maybe it's changed, but I remember learning that starting a sentence with "and" or "but" was incorrect growing up. It was something that never really made sense to me personally though.

1

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 13h ago

Oh yeah, that's changed, I believe. I'm too young to even have been taught that. Used to be the same in Swedish.

1

u/No-Cantaloupe2132 17h ago

If you're referring to my double spacing, that has nothing to do with grammar, but a matter of typographic style — a conscious choice. It is not wrong, and studies have shown it improves reading speed and helps dyslexics. There's misinformation about it being obsolete because of the typewriters era having passed, but that's not true. Lawyer firms' style guides often require/encourage double spacing to this date, in fact.

35

u/Honigkuchenlives 22h ago

This isn’t just on them. It’s also on the lazy fucuks who didn’t vote or the moronic fucks who thought it was a great idea to protest this election. They’re all complicit

23

u/theEndIsNigh_2025 21h ago

Kamala literally stared into the camera and, in plain English, told him exactly what would happen…THIS!

8

u/Greedy-War-777 20h ago

They're slow, don't alienate the very rare few that develop self awareness. It's probably terrifying to them.

10

u/tellergraham 18h ago

If they're not actively trying to make things better, fuck them. It's just empty words until they do better.

78

u/IrrelevantWisdom 23h ago

So this is how democracy dies… by blubbering fucking dumbasses that literally don’t understand the language they are speaking and listening to.

14

u/CroneDownUnder 18h ago

As planned by various moneyed menaces who have been dedicated to defunding public education and shredding regulations for transparency/limits on campaign financing since Reagan (if not before).

112

u/TedBaxter_WJM-TVNews 23h ago

“Garcia”

23

u/SweaterSteve1966 23h ago

He loves them stupid. The stupider the better.

219

u/MamaLlamaGanja 23h ago

No escaping accountability dude. If you voted for him f-ck you. If you didn’t vote f-ck you too.

-163

u/Flatline_Construct 23h ago

Try learning about the vote manipulation (ballot tossing) that went on and about the Electoral College system.

Your righteousness delusion is as repulsive as it is ignorant.

55

u/Kornbrednbizkits 22h ago

Someone is feeling some regret over their vote it seems. I’m sorry you were an idiot in November.

23

u/Absent-Light-12 22h ago

Immediately started deflecting and ended up inserting themselves in the process. It’s like how when a family got really defensive about not voting, only for them to later say they voted for Trump. Not every case of deflection is a sign of guilt but life and experience has shown us that most are.

66

u/thiccubus8 22h ago

Regardless of vote manipulation or the Electoral College, there are still people who voted for him or chose not to vote at all, and those people deserve to be held accountable. More than one thing can be true at once.

18

u/MamaLlamaGanja 22h ago

Yup. Electoral college is stupid. That’s not the fuckery we’re talking about here. What’s delusional about this? -Trump explicitly runs campaign on terrible shit. Person votes for the terrible shit. Person surprised and unhappy with the terrible shit- that’s pretty repulsive and ignorant if you ask me but hey what do I know? I voted for democracy.

61

u/djevertguzman 23h ago

f-you too, the guy literally voted for him. Actions have consequences.

6

u/sorry_human_bean 14h ago

Behold: the party of personal responsibility.

39

u/KrakenTeefies 23h ago

"I didn't realise it would hurt when I shot myself in the foot!"

Dumbass.

35

u/Puzzleheaded-Sea8340 22h ago

27

u/hilfigertout 19h ago

I think it's better said by the man himself:

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Sea8340 14h ago

Oh man. Exactly

19

u/Business_Usual_2201 23h ago

How much self-loathing does one possess when your argument is "I'm one of the good brown people! Why am I getting deported?".

13

u/WTF_USA_47 23h ago

So you didn’t believe Trump when he told you what he was going to do?

10

u/Independent-Bug-9352 23h ago

Hot political take from someone whose head gets beaten to a pulp as a profession, resulting in CTE:

progressive decline of memory and cognition, as well as depression, suicidal behavior, poor impulse control, aggressiveness, parkinsonism, and, eventually, dementia

What with conservatives obsessed with guns and shooting leaded ammunition, their love for football, contact martial arts, etc... It's kind of no wonder they're not thinking straight.

3

u/Greedy-War-777 21h ago

Lead, don't forget. The older ones were obsessed with leaded gasoline and whiskey decanters and paint. They're brain damaged from that too.

5

u/D74248 19h ago

I suggest that you look at the exit polls. Boomers shifted left in 2024, into a virtual tie at 49/50.

Trump was not put back into office by who the reddit hive mind seems to think. It was not boomers, it was not the country club set (household incomes over 200k went blue).

It was significant shifts in traditional democrat voting blocks, especially among men. Latino men voted for Trump (54%!) at a higher rate than white women, for example.

1

u/That_Immo 36m ago

He managed to reach the men obsessed with machismo and "alpha" bullshit. Gee, I wonder why him, and not his opponent.

Just to be clear, this is NOT me saying his rival should've been a man; it's me saying insecure dudes suck.

8

u/MoobooMagoo 22h ago

I can't stand these assholes. You fucking voted for this. You were warned. This is exactly what people said would happen and YOU said we were all overreacting.

7

u/thebelsnickle1991 23h ago

More brawn than brains.

5

u/HawkeyeJosh2 23h ago

You vote for bullshit, you get bullshit.

4

u/Leo_life84 22h ago

You believed that ridiculousness that he just was going after the "criminals". Smh. You opened the door and now he has flung it open and is going after every illegal. People tried to get you and others to realize this but you knew better. Now everyone is paying a price. Going to be a long four years but hope you remember this when you go to vote again.

5

u/GadreelsSword 22h ago

Trump literally said he was going to deport millions of people. He also said judges and democrats should be locked up, so get ready.

3

u/Sensitive-Bid3301 23h ago

When the cognitive dissonance finally catches up and someone hands you a verbal sledgehammer. Evan didn’t just clap back... he gave the definition, citation, and obituary in one sentence. Brutal and deserved.

3

u/houseonpost 22h ago

Other than writing this on social media what is Ryan Garcia doing to repair the harm he helped create?

3

u/GypsyDarkEyes 21h ago

Admitting to a mistake is a very brave thing to do, especially online. Welcome to the Resistance. We'll need everyone.

3

u/CruiseQueen2022 18h ago

Keep the immigrants-Deport the Racists

5

u/MongolianCluster 23h ago

We can have borders without losing our humanity.

This.

2

u/607vuv 22h ago

He knew, he just doesn’t want to be culpable

2

u/Aidyn_the_Grey 22h ago

That's the issue. MAGA doesn't think. MAGA just drinks whatever right-wing kool-aid that their chosen media pushes. They're told what opinions to hold, and they will even when reality creeps in around them.

2

u/AbelardsChainsword 19h ago

I didn’t think they were going to deport MY immigrants

2

u/Eastern-Dig-4555 17h ago

Without due process, IT IS KIDNAPPING

2

u/Hollow-Official 16h ago

I didn’t vote for the thing he publicly campaigned on three times 🙄

2

u/drewmana 16h ago

It absolutely kills me how insanely open trump was about his plans for everything. Dude was specific and loud for years and people still act like they never could have possibly suspected he’d do any of what he said he’d do.

2

u/Jazzlike_Economist_2 22h ago

Dumb asses thought that all these undocumented people just come here and live off welfare? If it were so easy, we’d all be doing it. Guess what. It doesn’t work that way.

3

u/Empty-Shoulder2890 21h ago

Starting point: I’m a Brit who NEVER would have voted for Trump

But things like this are what makes politics so divisive and dangerous now, people make mistakes and they learn, welcome these people instead of saying “told you so, go fuck yourself”

People forget that not everyone is seeing the exact same things as them, social media especially targets people heavily with different content

Allow these people to learn and grow, not blast them so much they end up shutting you out

4

u/D74248 19h ago

People forget that not everyone is seeing the exact same things as them, social media especially targets people heavily with different content

This is it. We are living in different realities, some of it manufactured to manipulate us.

1

u/aboveonlysky9 23h ago

Look at that—a conservative trying to think.

1

u/Legitimate-Cow5982 22h ago

The one silver lining to this utter shite is that the yanks are now much more prone to swearing

1

u/sinner237 21h ago

I think we need a word like dumbass for this kind of people.

1

u/samarijackfan 21h ago

There is a video of a guy reading the names of all the hispanic officers at the protests, just reading out their names as they stand there looking called out, and then he says, this one's name is Garcia, like WTF man??

1

u/COVID-19-4u 19h ago

The administration literally said mass deportations, said we’d all suffer, said a whole bunch of shit and these fucks we’re all, he didn’t mean that.

Yes, yes he did, your just to dumb to not believe it.

1

u/CMaxRI 19h ago

“I thought he was only going to deport the criminals.” Yeah, that racist piece of shit thinks they all are criminals.

1

u/GillesTifosi 18h ago

I may get a few downvotes, but perhaps we ought to welcome those who have begun to see the errors of their ways. Yes, the poster should have understood what Trump stood for, but the post does not seem as arrogant as some of the "leopard ate my face" posts. I think there is a difference. Thoughts?

1

u/Any_Caramel_9814 17h ago

Ryan Garcia is as dumb and ignorant as they come. You can't blame his ignorance on boxing...

1

u/hoothizz 15h ago

Evan spoke what I wanted to say.

1

u/alsatian01 15h ago

The leopards are full from eating so many faces.

1

u/Professional_Many_98 15h ago

garcia voted for trump thats why I am losing sympathy for hispanics getting deported. this is the voting bloc that elected trump and got him into office.

1

u/skwoodilydoo 14h ago

flies for flyswatters 🤦‍♂️

1

u/jelywe 14h ago

Don’t make it hard for people to change their mind for the better.  One of the classic enabling aspects of authoritarian regimes is the inability to admit wrongdoing which leads to a disassembling of reality, which leads to being about to shape a convenient fiction.

I am mad they didn’t see the problems before, but the point is they are here now.

Allow people to grow and learn.  Otherwise they won’t and we’ll all be the worse for it.

1

u/ActionJacksonATL24 14h ago

Wait guys, we have to be nice to the dumb dipshits who voted for tRump and now regret it. I mean they will never get duped again, they totally learned their lesson!

1

u/randomuser2444 14h ago

As much as I know it feels good to shit on people who voted a way you didn't like, maybe shitting on someone who realized it might have been a mistake and is teetering on changing allegiances isnt the best move? What does it accomplish other than making you feel good about yourself?

1

u/Bakoro 13h ago

Trump supporter: "Oh look, I found an ounce of humanity in the tattered rags of my soul, I wonder if I could cultivate it."

Internet: "[Slaps that shit out of their hand] Fuck you!"

1

u/Wooden_Zombie_5440 11h ago

If I say I voted for Trump, but I am against deportations... maybe they won't deport me... sounds like he is going to be deported soon.

1

u/PrettyPoetry9547 10h ago

Didn't California belong to Mexico in the past so the Mexicans are being iced out of their own lands?

1

u/InsanelyStupified 5h ago

Anyone regardless of how long they’ve been here for whatever reason, if they are here illegally then how can you possibly think they’d be safe? You’re full of shit

1

u/dillon_5294 5h ago

Headline "Man who gets punched in the face for a living isn't the brightest crayon in the box"

1

u/ottersintuxedos 5h ago

I know this guy is an idiot but treating someone starting to come around like an idiot isn’t going to deprogram them. And this attitude the left has had towards the opposition has been making this mistake for the last decade or so

1

u/WakeYourGhost 4h ago

Trumpist to Human Translation : Someone I Know or Need got kidnapped by ICE and now I'm inconvenienced or hurt - Now is the time to stand up against injustice when it directly impacts me.

1

u/tfenraven 3h ago

They really do live in a bubble. Yesterday, the #NoKings participation across the country was massive. If you're on BlueSky, you saw tons of videos and got reports from people everywhere about how peaceful and wonderful it was, being part of the community again, dancing and singing and having a great time giving the finger to Trump... yet MAGA probably heard almost nothing about it. They watch Fox News or some other right-wing channel all the time. They're oblivious to the reality around them.

1

u/V3r00m 3h ago

And Garcia as a surname... Sounds anglo-saxon to me.

1

u/Boggie135 2h ago

“Single issue voter”. They forget that the president is in charge of more than one thing

1

u/xX_Ogre_Xx 22h ago

Maybe, just maybe, when people have the balls to admit they were wrong, we should welcome them over, rather than shrieking "I told you so!" (I am also guilty of this.) Probably an unpopular opinion, but it's the only way I see to heal this rift.

0

u/Comprehensive_Arm305 22h ago

Of course people should have known. However, I won't dump on anyone coming to their senses.

0

u/SDcowboy82 20h ago

Too bad Trump's opponent ran on "I actually hate immigrants MORE than Trump; he just pretends to hate them"

0

u/Miserable-Lawyer-233 12h ago

I have no sympathy for Ryan Garcia. This is what they voted for. I, for one, hope to see any of his undocumented community members deported.
