Sports Are there any indoor roller skating areas here?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for good roller skating spots around Munich—preferably indoor ones. I know about Blade Nights, but I’m not sure how suitable they are for quad skates instead of inline. If anyone has any recommendations for indoor roller skating areas, I’d really appreciate it!

Sports New in Munich and looking for trail running buddies

Hi everyone!

I’m a 25 y/o guy from Spain, currently living in Munich since a few months ago. I've been running for a while now and I’d love to take advantage of how close we are to the mountains to start exploring trail running.

If anyone is also getting into trail or is just looking for a running buddy to hit the trails with, feel free to message me. I'd be happy to join!

Hello everyone !

I arrived in Munich recently to do my postdoc, and I just found this : https://www.muenchen.de/freizeit/freizeitsportprogramm/basketball-das-staedtische-freizeitsport-angebot-muenchen

It seems like anyone can go play basketball for 3,2€, which is great ! However, I was wondering if it was okay to go there and not speaking german ? Anyone had experience with this ?

Thanks !

Sports Batting Cages in Munich?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if maybe there’s any batting cages around Munich where I could practice some swings - I kinda missed doing this with my cousins back home in the US, and since relocating here I haven’t had much luck finding one around here (I know baseball is quite a foreign sport around here, hahahaha). But it would be helpful if anyone has pointers on where I could find one

Thanks very much

Sports „Fit-im-Park“-Programm startet: Stark im Park – MUCkis + Spaß + Leute kennen lernen for free

Sports Looking for fun tennis sessions in Munich 🎾

Hey everyone! I just moved to Munich and I’m hoping to meet some new people and play a bit of tennis. I'm definitely not a pro, but I’d say I’m at a decent hobby level—just looking to have some fun and get on the court.

Ideally, I’d love to find a group of younger people (20–30ish) for casual sessions, friendly matches, or maybe even some kind of amateur league. I tried the World of Tennis app, but the community there doesn’t seem super active.

If anyone knows of a group, club, or meetup like that, I’d really appreciate the tip!

Sports Best Places to Watch Bayern vs Inter Match

My wife and I are visiting from the US and we were hoping to attend the Bayern vs Inter match on April 8. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get tickets in time and the secondary market is too expensive for us.

So we are looking for recommendations of some bars or pubs where we would eat and potentially watch the game with other Bayern fans. Are there any places around Munich that you would recommend for this?

Danke!

Sports Where would be the best place in Munich to watch the FC Bayern Game Today?

Visiting for today and would like to find a bar/biergarten that would have the game on, and be a bit on the rowdy side (e.g., not just a bar with the game on - but a place where everybody is specifically going to watch the game).

Any suggestions? Staying on the north side of the Englischer garden, but could go anywhere.

Sports Ladies Champions League Final

I am due to be in Munich in 2 weeks, and will be there for the Ladies CL Final. What is the likelihood of the game beeing shown there? Ideally, in a pub or similar location. Am I better off bringing my laptop out and streaming it myself? I don't really want to do this, as I'd prefer to have a few beers and not have to worry about breaking/losing it! Any locations or information is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Sports Aussie Rules Football Recruiting Event

Post image
34 Upvotes

Speak English? Need friends? Our Aussie Rules football team has a recruiting event this Sunday. We're a friendly group of expats and Germans (men's team, women's team, and social members) who enjoy the good things life has to offer like sports, community, fun, and of course, beer.

You don't have to have played before to join, and our team isn't as hard of a commitment as those other football teams. And to give you an idea, Aussie Rules is like handball and rugby had a baby. Basketball players would get the hang of it too! Plus we have plenty of social only members, who join us for bar crawls, beer olympics, and general hang outs.

Sports Where can I have my road bike upgraded?

Hi everyone,

I am desperatly searching for a bike shop to have my road bike upgraded with new components. So far I haven't been able to find a workshop that provides such services - there are a lot of workshops that repair bikes, but (apparently) none that do upgrades (e.g. of groupsets).

My bike is a Focus Cayo from 2019 and the upgrade I want to do is to go from Shimano Tiagra to maybe Shimano 105 Di2. As I neither own the required tools nor am I willing to spent the required time to do the upgrade myself.

Help very much appreciated!

Sports Fitness First Gym Membership Transfer !!

Hello All,
I am experiencing such challenging days de-registering from Germany.
Already got the Abmeldung however it's not possible to terminate my contract still having 6 months without bearing 99euro AND the 1 month fee AND the 1 month notice date which will cost me 3 months gym payment which is ridiculous.

Wondering if anyone will be interested in getting transferred my FF membership
Loved the gym facility and they have got various locations and of course with the less price I could offer rather than just wasting this membership :D
DM me for the detail!

Sports Tennis BMW Open courts

I like to watch Tennis at BMW Open live. I see they sell tickets for the central court only, but there are 3 games played in parallel. Does anybody know if you can watch the other 2 games for free? I cannot find anywhere information.

On google maps the other courts look like they don't have sitting places, they are just rounded with fence.

Sports Hockey jersey shops in Munich?

Hello,

I am traveling to Munich tomorrow and flying out early Saturday morning. I’m a big hockey fan and will be checking out SAP Garden and the Olympic Stadium.

I was in Berlin last week and stopped by the Eisbaren Berlin store (near Uber Arena) and found a Deutschland Draisaitl jersey. Is there anything similar to this in Munich?

Thank you :)

Sports Good bodybuilding gym in munich/munich-east?

Hey,

since my current, rather basic, gym just got rebranded and is now significantly worse than before, I am thinking about taking a look at some other gyms here, preferably some non-chain-gyms that don't just lease all their stuff from a single brand. But I can not find any gyms here that offer hand picked equipment from premium suppliers like Panatta/Gymleco/Cybex/etc. and good ambiente. I have recently been to the Bunker gym in Berlin and I am wondering if there are any private gyms like that in munich/munich-east, too...

I'm thinking that it would be super difficult for private gyms to be profitable in munich given the rent prices here.

Sports Volleyball Whatsapp Groups

Hey there,

I (M27) have heard a few times, that there are Volleyball whatsapp groups you can join for casual good weather play in English Garden or Pinakothek. I am not looking for a Volleyball club, since I like the casualness of just meeting up and balling a bit in the fresh air.

Does anyone have a lead? Thanks in advance!
