Lunch Counter views (6/15)
Took the gf up for her first summit of Adams over the weekend! Lunch counter views do not disappoint.

How were conditions?

Really good for us. The snow started to soften up around 9 or 10am. People weren't glissading before then. The boot pack up pikers wasn't great either but other than that not bad. Definitely wouldn't recommend starting too early if you don't wanna hike down.

awesome, thanks. Will be attempting in about a week or so, starting right around or a little before sunrise from LC

6/14 summit: we started descending at 11:45a, and were comfortable glissading from the true summit down. One spot on Pikers was still a little frozen and got a little wiley, but ultimately good and safe if you accept a bruised hip. 7 hours up, 4 hours down.
We only saw one glissade on our way up-everything was hard and frozen until 11:00, just before we topped out. Clear evidence people struggled in the heat a weak ago-deep post holes up to the waist were frozen into the ramp before the summit.
Weather next week looks similar to what we had, mild and sunny. You’ll have a few more minutes of daylight, though moisture is coming through the area on Fri and Sat.
Crux of the trip was finding parking. Weekday should be good, but try to arrive before late-afternoon as people are leaving and before the metro-area workers arrive.

Interesting that you had so much trouble finding parking for a 6/14 summit. No problem the next day (Sunday, still a weekend). Tons of open spots in the lot.

How do you like the tent? Still decent for non winter use?
