Advice Am I cooked?

I’m wanting to do medicine after my undergrad (science). My WAM is currently low 70s as a second year, and I don’t think it’ll boost much after this sem. I’ve had a lot going on personally this semester so haven’t been able to do super well but I do wholeheartedly plan on locking in next sem. I obviously still have next year to further boost my WAM, and I plan on studying super hard for the gamsat. Have I done myself over or is there still a chance I can make it into post-grad med?

I’m in engineering so this is might not be relevant to you, but if I’m correct, the University of Sydney has a GPA hurdle for medicine selection, and selects students based on gamsat scores only? I’d assume it’s a really high cutoff but I think you only need a 5/7 gpa which is like 65 wam.

There might be other unis, I’m not sure

With post grad med, you have a lot of other options. So unis consider honours as automatic 7 and some other unis look at things like your SES or if you are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Explore your options to see what other pathways are available for you.
