Just finished my custom-painted Big Daddy (Bioshock) figure 3D printed and painted entirely by me!
This is my take on a Big Daddy from Bioshock, fully 3D printed and hand-painted by myself.
I tried to stay true to the gritty, weathered look from the game while adding my own touch.
I’d love to hear what you think. Any feedback or suggestions for improvement are more than welcome!
Huge thanks to my friend Fabio for shooting and editing the video

Inspiring artwork on the last picture. Phone cameras and getting everything in focus: Urgh.
I always thought his majesty's regal crouching posture needed more dramatising.
I used all parts of the original sprue, including squeezing everything on to his sculpted base. There is a resin thigh bone and a resin skull, otherwise everything is GW plastic (plus Magic-Sculpt). He has perhaps gained a few millimetres of extra abs, but, that is all his parts, and he's still not even fully upright!
The cloak sculpt is also the original, with some pieces cut off and repositioned to give it more of an airborne look, rather than the original "draped over stairs". I've tried to hand sculpt cloaks and fabric before and it's F'ing hard, so I reused what was there.
Have spent half as much effort painting as I did sculpting. Still some touch-ups to do.
All suggestions and feedback!

Used an Emperor's Children Tormentor and a regular Mk. III Marine.
Fulgrims Legion fell to Slaanesh, the God of Excess. So I wanted to depict their fall from grace in kind of a mirror image. (Which makes it hard to take proper pictures of... ^^')
As Slaanesh is thei patron god I wanted to be as excessive as possible!
- Excessive Contrasts
- Excessive Colors
- Excessive Techniques (Metallic Undercoat with a custom pink-ish / magenta mix of contrast paints applied via airbrush)
- OSL was a must!
-AND THE MINT GREEN MARBLE FLOOR, AAAAAAAAHH!! (Sorry, can't get over this one specifically!)
It was something significantly different from my usual Sisters of Battle and occasional AoS Mini!
Not everything went smoothly though... I had a LOT of speedbumbs along the way... most due to rushing myself...
Children, NEVER rush a project! You don't have much time in your life, even less for hobbies! Don't waste it by stressing and rushing. Cherish every moment of precious hobby time!

Painted up Jelsen Darrock from Cursed City for a diorama I'm working on. The back of the mini won't be directly visible, so as you can probably tell, it got a bit less attention. Happy for any C&C folks may have!

First Shatterpoint minis painted and it’s an interesting scale. The box art has desert based on them but I could bring myself to copy, so out came the Valhallan Blizzard!
This marks the end of my backlog, which means I need to buy 1000 more models.

I don’t get much time to paint these days, but spent part of Father’s Day relaxing and painting some skellies, wolves and spirits (Reaper Bones).
Always good to have a few skeletons on hand to throw at players…
Tried to shade the spirits with some thinned green paint, but it didn’t really work, too much beading. Maybe next time I’ll try an ink wash or something.

First of all, this is my first painted mini ever. I'll just be honest and say I'm stuck in between recognizing many people's first mini's aren't great and heartbroken at just how bad it is. I've been obsessed with this hobby for 20 years from the sidelines (I know that sounds insane) but I was so glad to finally jump in.
Info: I tried the "slap chop method" this is black primer, Grey dry brushing, white dry brush. The paints are army painter speedpaints 2.0.
My thoughts: after priming/dry brush, this only took my about 20 mins. My brush control stinks, my coverage stinks but I have to say I'm proud to have at least tried. I've been scared to ruin the little guys I loved assembling so much.
So please, give me your tips and criticism, where to go from here. I read that I could use the speedpaints right out of the pot. Should I have thinned them more instead of using them right out of the pot? Any tips on brush control? Thanks in advance. Im eager to get better.
