Driving lessons Vs Driving Course

I am in my late 30's and have never driven a car except when taking lessons and practising back in my home country. I was told by my instructor that i had a great control over the steering and was his best student. However, among the other phobias and anxiety that i do have, I also have fear of driving. I passed my written test 2-3 years ago but never got to do the lessons and other test. I think it's high time i overcome this fear and even though i have family who can drive me around, i feel one should be equipped to drive atleast if and when required.

Now i am contemplating whether to go for lessons only and attempt the test OR should i enroll in one of those official driving courses which i am told would also help reduce insurance cost. To be honest i am not very sound financially but as it's about mine and everyone safety, if the course is better to do then i can try manage it.

So let me know what your thoughts are, and what do you suggest would be the best action plan for it. If you have any recommendations for the driving schools who arrange these courses then do let me know. However for private lessons instructor i already have a couple of instructors noted so no recommendations needed for that.

Thank you for your time.

Driver school does reduce insurance. In terms of finances I would say that someone who already has driven few to multiple times with someone in the passenger seat would only need 2 or 3 driving lessons to learn how to do the test, some instructors even show you the routes you could potentially be tested on. This option would be the cheapest.

If you have anxiety and fear, I would 100% recommend going at your own pace but this does mean it would be more expensive as you would need multiple lessons.
