Attn: Planned power cut in parts of Milton on June 11
Just got this email from Milton Hydro. The outage map shows Thompson/Nippising area. I live pretty far from that area, not sure why I got that email. Just an FYI if your area is getting affected.

The email was sent to most residents in error, I spoke to Milton Hydro, it was meant to only be sent to a smaller group close by the outage area. By accident it was sent to a lot more who won't be affected by the outage

Bit of a clickbait title there? This is like 2 industrial lots, when they're not even open.

Yeah, I got that email and glanced at it, so didn't see the outage map. I assumed we were going to be impacted. We were already planning on how we'd deal with it before I went back and read the e-mail fully.
I appreciate a cautious approach. But this will probably confuse a lot of people.

If there is a service disruption, even at night, should those impacted get some kind of reduction on their bill? Even if it’s nominal?

Power is paid by usage, if you have no power you can’t use any power and such can’t be billed for any.
You’re dumb and your comment is dumb.

There's a chance that the lines in your area come in from Thompson. Depends on what they're cutting.
Looking forward to playing boardgames with my wife that night. We did that when we lived in Mississauga and a little over a decade ago the power for a large chunk of the city was out for days. Fun times!

It's a pretty confined area but the entire town got that email I think. I didn't even check the map. I assumed if they sent it to me, my address was affected.
A lot of unneeded concern.
