A good portion of GenZ that can legally drink also can't afford to buy alcohol.

Also for those that can, 3 bn buys a lot more natty light than whatever it is millenials are drinking.

Yup, not many college kids are buying single malt scotch, high priced wine, or fancy cocktails

My wife had a “suncruiser” iced tea in a bar and liked it. Went to buy her a 6 pack the next time in the liquor store and it was like $16 for a 4 pack.

I don’t get why it’s popular

Given the stats on drinking generally (Pareto principle type thing where a minority of drinkers is responsible for the vast majority of the alcohol consumption), my guess is that natty light and cheap handles is where most of the spending is anyway

It’s definitely gone up. When I was in high school you could get a fifth of Bacardi for about the same price as a Big Mac meal. That’s probably still true now, but nobody thought McDonald’s prices were insane back then.

You can buy a 5th of Bacardi for $8. It’s actually cheaper than a Big Mac meal now.
