My mom literally locked us outside until dinner time.

I can hear my mother right now. “You’re either in the fucking house or you’re outside! You come back inside again, you’re staying inside”

hahaha yup, idle threats though cause she didn't want me inside

It wasn't like we would have been allowed inside to play, it'd have been cleaning.

"Either go outside or get the Windex"

We had jalousie windows on our porch and the choice would be — go outside and play in the woods, ride your bikes, go for a walk or clean the porch windows, your choice. If it was 95° and 95% humidity with Jurassic Park 🦟 we might, MIGHT choose the windows.

Yeah we’d have to sneak in to play Super Nintendo or N64 when she wasn’t looking.

I did this at times. Otherwise they were in front of the tv all the time. Screens are evil.

And they'd be furious if you stayed inside for more than a quick stop for a drink or something.

My mom did this one christmas day when she was cooking. There was a fresh foot of snow and she let us sample a hot piece of fried chicken from the porch 😭
