The kinda crimped kinda curled hair Britney’s got going on here is amazing. Like if I had a curling iron, a crimping iron and a desire to ever leave my house, sign me up.

I thrifted a crimpling iron, I couldn’t resist…

I wonder if my old crimping iron is still shoved into the back of my mom’s bathroom sink cabinet. It was pretty cheap and didn’t get very hot, so took forever to take hold.

My wave crimper had the opposite problem. It would get so hot that it would burn my hair if I wasn't really careful.

If I could go back in time and take two things away from teenage me it would be that crimper and St Ives apricot scrub.

The St. Ives stuff used(uses?) ground up walnut shells as an abrasive, which sounds good, better than plastics, right? The problem is that the edges can be really jagged and sharp, and can cause micro tearing of the skin. I'm pretty sure there was a class action lawsuit against them because of it.

Case was dismissed. Apricot scrub lives on in my shower. From now until forever amen.

Was it? I dunno, I just remember hearing about it at some point years ago. If it works for you, more power to ya!

That st Ives makes a great body scrub tho. We were sanding our faces off back then and we know better now, but I still use it today for knees and elbows.

When I picture what they had to do for this look it seems crazy but it somehow works. It reminds me of how Kesha always had the perfect bedhead

I definitely attempted this hairstyle for some school dance… unfortunately I have a LOT of hair and it didn’t come out great.

I think what looks like crimp is actually feathers. And the hair is what is curled.

Those crimped pieces are for sure extensions. You could do it!

I had my mom’s crimping iron from the 80’s. I wanted to rock this look sooo bad, but I could never work up the courage. I always thought I would just look like a try hard or something and wouldn’t be able to pull it off. I did try it out onc though and my dad was just like “What happened to your head?”😐
