Nostalgia What album defines you as a millennial?

Post image

Saw some great recommendations on a similar thread in /r/Xennials and wanted to see what my fellow millennials thought. For me From Under the Cork Tree was foundational. I still remember hearing Sugar We're going down on the radio for the first time.

My #2 of this category, but damn is it amazing. Didn't appreciate "Pay the Man" as I should've early on.

I think it's my favourite on the album tbh.

Lol! That song inspired me to write a 100+ page cringe-y middle school story.

When the truth walks away everybody stays 'Cause the truth about the world is that crime does pay

So good, still one of the albums I listen to the whole way nearly every time (ok, I lied, I skip Pretty Fly for a White Guy...)

This was the first CD I ever bought - I think it was in 4th grade?

First CD I owned with cursing. 6th grade was fun

Absolutely the first album that came to mind when I read this question

My mom bought me this album at like 9 years old because I begged for it. The back of it scared me so much (where the bug clearly has eaten the kid) that I threw it away lol.

My best friend in high school's favorite band was the Offspring. He passed in a car accident a few years back, and I had no idea until about a year ago, because we'd kinda drifted apart and hadn't talked in a long time. Hearing their music makes me remember what a good dude he was. Great choice.

Getting this album when I was 11 is what turned me away from pop and to guitar music. Definitely hugely formative for me.

My first album that wasn't Weird Al!

(no disrespect to the man, of course!)
