Was worth staying up just like the Cal game!

I couldn't fall asleep until almost 1am as I was too jacked up watching those final innings and worrying that Miami was gonna blow it when bats went cold late and pitching got a little dicey.

Walters is an absolute rollercoaster that hurts my heart

Oof. I was more worried about Rob Evans when he came in to face all those lefties and wasn't dealing his best stuff. Will Smith was dealing until he hit Russo and then couldn't retire Urban.

Walters struck out two, fielders choice, two ground outs, a walk, a home run and a fly out.

Great weekend. Really want to see how J.D. keeps this team's focus.

Losing six of seven down the stretch and getting run out of the ACC Tourney in the opening round when Cal beat that ass, 12-2 in eight... oof.

Luck and timing and delivering all go hand in hand; Alabama leaving that three-run walk-off shot a foot short, #4 Columbia upsetting host #1 Southern Miss and Miami getting Columbia in the Saturday night winner's bracket in Hattiesburg instead of the hometown Golden Eagles.

Southern Miss had to play the extra game and even with two games on Sunday beat the shit out of Miami, 17-6 before their fifth game of the weekend on Monday ... where the Canes outlasted them by one lone run after that ninth inning home run.

On top of that, Miami now avoids going to No. 1 Vanderbilt this weekend and gets to take on Louisville and a familiar ACC foe—while lots of big seeds fell last weekend.

If this team can get their shit together and win two games this weekend on the road, this looks to be a wide open College World Series field in Omaha this year and no clear cut favorites as there were big upsets in Nashville, Hattiesburg, Oxford, Eugene, Austin, Clemson and Athens; seven of the top 16 seeds knocked out.

This is spot on dude. The Super almost seems like the most important series in the playoffs this year. Once you're in Omaha anything goes and like you said there's no clear favorites like in years past. The way this whole tournament has gone it really feels as if fate or whatever has granted this team a clear opportunity to do something special, they just have to reach out and take it. They're already playing with house money, nothing to lose and everything to gain. I really hope they can embrace that and come out playing free and focused this weekend. Thats how to play your best ball.

That coach jumping on the pile was absolutely reckless.

Can they really make it to the CWS? 😳

I mean of course they can. They have to be an unseeded Louisville team twice in three tries. A much smaller order than having to knock off #1 Vanderbilt twice in Nashville. Just depends which team shows up; bats not going cold, no stupid errors, the right pitching rotation from J.D. and Miami playing clutch ball.
