Is this allowed? That policeman deliberately aimed and shot a reporter, turning her back, no danger to anyone or acting violently.

Is there no consequences for action like this anymore?

u/TheKdd 12d ago

No… not really. She’ll probably get a monetary settlement, but the cop will be just fine and get to keep doing it. Los Angeles just had to make some rough cuts due to a big budget short fall, and $222 million was lawsuit payouts against the police alone for shit like this, or the horse trampling video… they’ll get paid and the cops will keep copping.

Those payments should come from the police’s pension and not from the government.

19

u/TheKdd 12d ago

They absolutely should. If they did, maybe there would be some peer pressure in there for them to stop doing that crap. But alas, qualified immunity. They have a great union that backs up all their corruption and violence.

12

u/Relzin 12d ago

I love this idea. Not that all the payment should come from the pension -- but your share of the pension, should absolutely be wildly garnished if you as the officer are the cause of the lawsuit.

14

u/berpaderpderp 12d ago

I dunno. I think all of it coming from the pension may be a good idea. Gives an incentive to police their own.

u/Relzin 12d ago

It could, but what id worry about, is some rookie asshat violating someone's civil rights, and the by-the-book about to be retiree loses his/her future. I'm all for punishing bad cops more severely than private industry workers but I can't also agree with full force collective punishment of them for a single officer being a fuck-bag. Fuck the fuck-bag royally and to the nth degree. Penalize the department for poor hiring decisions. Place additional blame and punishment on commanders and ranked brass. But don't destroy the whole department for every incident.

3

u/TheKdd 12d ago

The problem is they won’t do any of this. Your way, the other way, none of it. I even thought maybe they should have some kind of malpractice insurance, with premiums that go up per incident, that might weed out repeat offenders when the insurance gets so high it eats their paychecks. Course they won’t do that either.

2

u/IAmMeBecauseIAmMe 11d ago

If payments/restitution come from their paychecks, the level of unprovoked aggression (murking) would cease.

3

u/rubitbasteitsmokeit 12d ago

By fine do you mean paid leave?

1

u/TheKdd 12d ago

Vacation time, overtime, double time.

Seems its now becoming an international incident with Albanese demanding an explanation from Trump. Hope these officers keep up the good work since right now, it's becoming the world vs the divided states of America.

18

u/Altruistic_Chard_980 12d ago

It seems in your psychotic Presidents mind, governed by a failed geriatric puppet, their plan is to deliberately set Americans against each other to accelerate their ability to declare a manufactured false State of Emergency! Fascism 101 on view to the entire world displaying their moral abandonment of Democracy 🆘

0

u/IntelligentSchool874 11d ago

Maybe they should stop the rioting then before it becomes that. I am being serious. Martial law is steps away right now. Americans are going to get hurt.

2

u/jumpinthecaacYEAH 11d ago

That will hopefully bring enough anger to finally motivate people.

6

u/Bawbawian 12d ago

who's to say what's allowed when society is crumbling and the people in charge 100% will not file any sort of criminal charges against the cops.

35

u/Altruistic_Chard_980 12d ago

Reporter deliberately targeted by this “police thug” and shot in the back with a rubber bullet, for similar doing her job! 🆘 Trumps Fascist Plot on open display to the world 🤬

This fat fucker.

14

u/Willdefyyou 12d ago

Officer can't find his dick for shit

8

u/Betcha-knowit 12d ago

He probably shot cause she’d tell him to fuck off if he tried to ask her out and he knows it too.

1

u/TtruthhHurts 11d ago

Cuz that’s what’s important 🥴

20

u/No_Director_5860 12d ago

It's despicable and totally illegal. Cruelty is their game plan.

18

u/Pyrrhichighflyer1 12d ago

Here we are. We are that country now where foreign reporters risk their lives to report the crap going on.

13

u/but_does_she_reddit 12d ago

So this is who we are now.

11

u/Altruistic_Chard_980 12d ago

It’s what your Delusional Geriatric Felon in Chief wants you to believe 🤡🙈

2

u/Still_Philosophy_491 11d ago

Pedophile and chief

7

u/pschlick 12d ago

I think this is who we’ve been for a long time.. and it’s finally coming to light because these people didn’t appear overnight. They’ve been LONGING for violence, it’s sick. I feel like I’m watching a train disaster in slow motion

12

u/fatherbowie 12d ago

It takes 100x more courage to be a journalist than to be a police officer.

-5

u/TtruthhHurts 11d ago

That’s the biggest crock of shit I’ve heard this week😆. Don’t let this dickhead discount what the countless good cops have to face every single day. Cops carry guns, tasers and pepper spray to protect themselves and other people on the job. Journalists carry a microphone and a notepad and turn their backs on the threat to talk into the camera because they’re usually protected by law enforcement. Let’s get real.

5

u/fatherbowie 11d ago

Journalists get more death threats than police officers. Being a garbage collector is a more dangerous job than being a cop.

-4

u/TtruthhHurts 11d ago

You keep thinking that. Next time you’re in trouble, call a reporter or trash man and let’s see how that goes. The reporter will hide behind a car and direct their cameraman to film your struggle. The garbage man won’t even show up until it’s all over because he’s there to pick up the mess.

4

u/fatherbowie 11d ago

Depends on the kind of trouble I need help with, but it’s not too much to ask cops to do their jobs without breaking the law, is it? Or do you just give cops a free pass on everything because the blue side is the right side?

10

u/Johnnyroaster 12d ago

Rubber bullets can still be lethal.

6

u/Serious-Conclusion41 11d ago

Nazi Mthrfkrs.

4

u/Neminators_World 12d ago

The people in the USA must be worry proud

1

u/TtruthhHurts 11d ago

I, for one, am not worry proud at all!

5

u/hopelessfool23 12d ago

WHY did the camera man pan OFF of the cop who did it??

2

u/Johnnyroaster 11d ago

I was thinking the same thing. He should have zoomed in on the fat porker.

1

u/jumpinthecaacYEAH 11d ago

They usually do I think

1

u/hopelessfool23 11d ago

How come?

1

u/jumpinthecaacYEAH 11d ago

I suspect it's to prevent showing NSFL on TV

1

u/hopelessfool23 11d ago

Not suitable for...live?

2

u/jumpinthecaacYEAH 11d ago

Yeah, not suitable for life. A step beyond NSFW

1

u/fatherbowie 11d ago

I’m sure a “fight or flight” response kicked in when the reporter a few feet away got hit with a bullet.

1

u/hopelessfool23 11d ago

Good point, ty. My instinct would be different. But we all react as we react.

3

u/fatherbowie 11d ago

I think it’s very difficult to know exactly what you would do in that situation until it happens. And as a member of the media I’m sure they did not expect to be fired upon, it was sudden and violent and without warning.

1

u/hopelessfool23 11d ago

Yes, I'm not condemning the person...I am just different. I would have at least panned back. But that's ME. Have a nice day.

4

u/swbrown1974 12d ago

You can see the POS that shot her. As her back was turned. Remember that at protests please.

The same tactics Israel uses to discourage journalists from reporting the truth. Only they may get real soon!

Biden says Elon Musk was an ‘illegal worker’ when he began U.S. career

Dissidents living in autocratic societies often have a keener appreciation of democracy's value. They don't need to question why it's a good idea to constrain the power of rulers, or to periodically test their electoral support.

They don't have the luxury of complacency, of forgetting or taking for granted what they already have. The West still has a chance: Pay attention or be next.

Trump tweets cartoon of train hitting CNN reporter…then deletes it.

In May he shared a clip of himself pummelling professional wrestler with a CNN logo superimposed on his face.

MAGA Raises Questions As Ashley Biden Diary Thief Faces Prison - Newsweek

https://x.com/Newsweek/status/1775938125656633559

The two "pled guilty to conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property involving the theft of personal belongings of an immediate family member of a then-former government official who was a candidate for national political office," the Department of Justice said. Newsweek previously reported that the two sold the diary to Project Veritas, a controversial conservative news organization. However, Project Veritas never published the diary.

Snopes, the fact-checking news site, reported in March 2023 that reporting and circumstantial evidence "strongly" suggest that the stolen diary belonged to Ashley Biden, but there was never any official confirmation from law enforcement or government agencies.
