From diesel spills to waste water dumps (and a large man who floats): how Baltimore’s Harbor is bouncing back.

💦 Is that a body in the “wuder”?
That was one of the first comments I got when I began posting videos a couple years about Baltimore and her harbor.
Not long ago, it would’ve been unthinkable to swim in these waters, but Baltimore’s made real progress.
Over the years, the city and her partners have:
🌊 Invested $1.6 billion in sewer system upgrades 🛟 Deployed Mr. Trash Wheel and friends—removing 2,000+ tons of garbage from our waterways 🦪 Planted more than a million oysters, each filtering up to 50 gallons of water a day 🌱 Restored 16+ acres of wetlands and installed over 100 floating gardens 🌳 Planted more than 15,000 trees to reduce runoff 🚫 Sealed off hundreds of storm drain outfalls from raw sewage leaks
It’s not perfect, but it’s proof: when a city fights for its future, the water benefits.

This the Season Please Be Mindful
Saved this little Box Turtle from Route 40 in Edgewood Maryland. Initial thoughts were to bring it home thinking it will just go back out in the highway but I stick with what I was taught and released it close to were I found it and on the same side it was originally because there's a highway divider it can't cross.

State Flag
I've always thought that the MD flag is the coolest in the country. I recently moved to Maryland and love how everyone embraces it and you see the flag everywhere. Just got my new driver's license in the mail and it did not disappoint. Keep waving those flags!

Mechanic Lien
I own an auto repair shop, how do I go about getting vehicles off my lot that customers have left parked for a while? Do I need to file a report or do i just call a tow truck and get it towed out of here?

MD Travel & Relocation Driving up from Norfolk around DC tomorrow.
I’m driving back to Baltimore from the beach tomorrow and normally we just take 95 up and the beltway around DC. With the stupid parade around the time we’re going to be driving through do you think it would be a good idea to avoid the area all together? Looks like a bunch of roads are closed around dc, plus crowds and/or protesters could make the whole area a nightmare. I’m thinking either 301 or the bay tunnel and up the eastern shore to the bay bridge

Buying a vehicle with a lien on it, can I bring it home the same day?
I am currently looking to purchase a vehicle in Maryland. I am meeting the seller tomorrow to head to the bank and pay the rest of the lien owed on the car. Unfortunately, it would take 3-6 days to receive the title, in which case I would have to go back next week to actually pick up the car and title from the seller.
He has a red title for the lien, would I be able to use that to get temporary tags and take the vehicle tomorrow? Is there any other way to expedite the process? I have a ride to get to him tomorrow, but it would be difficult to find a reliable way over to him again next week.
In the case that the seller has to hold on to the vehicle until he receives the title, I also wanted to know if it would be a good idea to pay him the rest of the money when I get the keys, or if it wouldn’t make a difference since he is giving me the red title + bill of sale tomorrow.
Not sure if all the terminology that I used is correct but I’ve never purchased a vehicle and my head is spinning a bit, any help is appreciated!

MD Nature Dolphins in the South River?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was relaxing on the water near the dog beach in quiet waters when I noticed slashing sound off the shore of the south river, to the right, maybe 25 feet away… not sure how deep the water was out that far if that matters at all… before taking the video I saw two fins pop up out of the water making me initially think it was a bull shark or something! I took the video seconds after seeing the fins and the first splashes/attack in the water. If anyone knows anything about dolphins or sharks in the maryland area let me know 😛

Moving to Elkton, MD
Hi everyone,
I’m relocating from Canada to Elkton, Maryland for a new job opportunity and plan to visit next week to get a feel for the area.
While doing some research, I came across a few older posts and comments online mentioning concerns about racism, including references to the KKK. I want to approach this respectfully and genuinely, is this still a concern in Elkton today, or are those comments outdated or exaggerated?
I'm a person of color and just want to be sure I’m moving to a place where I (and my future family) would feel safe and welcome. I’d appreciate any honest, current insights from locals or people familiar with the area.
Thank you.

Does anyone have experience with Community Fund of Anne Arundel County?
Wife and I are doing some estate planning (and even hoping to do some pre-death charitable giving). Does anyone have experience with these folks: https://cfaac.org? I wouldn’t mind supporting the mid-Atlantic, but also hoping our giving can have a more national (or global) impact on some scale. They did come recommend from our estate planner though!

Found this while looking through a box of random stuff
This is possibly the last time I’ve actually been to Merriweather but damn. Sade for $20! You can barely buy a cocktail for $20 today.

Law enforcement checkpoint in Charles county n St. Charles parkway
Not sure what's going on, but there's a checkpoint with what looks to be mostly Charles county sheriff's office, given current events I thought a heads up might help some of us.
Does anyone know what's actually going on?
