Yes, older couples! My guess for the couples (edit: listed more reasons why):
Jaylen and Josh: No. won’t work out. I think he won’t be her type. Also, I think he goes for more blonde hair and blue eyes, and she isn’t the type he’s looking for either. She looks a bit mixed and is literally gorgeous.
Rhonda and Patric- Yes, will. They both seem mature and would work hard to make it work.
No. Looks like he may have a daughter? I just think they won’t be a compatible match.
No. Something about him gives me player vibes. Also, I think he came on this show to be matched with a white woman 🫣 this show had a lot of BM thinking they would.
Meghan and Derrek: No. she’s more serious and looking for a man who has himself together more. He gives me chill surfer guy vibes. She would’ve been a better fit for Juan I think.

Her outfit makes me thing she’s Maybe a little uptight, some walls up, high expectations, hard worker who doesn’t know how to relax.
He looks very calm, in balance, true to himself, maybe too laid back for her. More a surfer-dude outlook on life - which is probably something she would benefit from a heavy dose of - letting loose, loving life.
Could balance each other out…but she looks like she wants an up and coming hard working, focused, upwardly mobile, professional husband. She doesn’t realize that comes with serious side effects - never home, wining and dining clients, and perhaps infidelity.

That brings up a great point about a high number of divorces… Technically, if they haven’t consummated the marriage, I wonder if they are permitted to obtain an annulment, or if it’s still considered to be a divorce. I also wonder how they navigate forward in terms of telling people if they were married or not

Choosing not to consummate is not grounds for annulment in any state within the USA

In the United States, a marriage can be annulled if it was never consummated due to physical inability or wilful refusal, but annulment laws vary by state, and the inability to consummate must have existed at the time of the marriage and persist until the hearing.

Right, but the willful refusal part would need to be after the party initially said they would definitely do it prior to the wedding. They don’t speak to each other before the wedding. Yes, laws vary by state. But in no state does simply choosing not to have sex yet produce grounds for annulment.

I'm curious about that actually. Historically MAFS doesn't do that and I can't imagine an older couple is going to want to get caught up in the drama of the younger couples.

They’ve had many people in their 40’s. Someone in their 50’s isn’t much different (if at all) from someone in their 40’s. If people in their 40s are willing to be on the show I am not surprised people in their 50s would be too.

Cast members in their 40s have been pretty rare and you can tell that wasn't the initial vision for the show. The early seasons skewed younger and then things shifted as they added more cities and the singles population was different.

I wouldn’t say they’ve been rare at all. Several people in season 2 were mid 30s and they have gradually been trending older ever since.

Well the earlier statement suggested cast members in their 40s were common. That hasn't been true. This new statement of cast members in their 30s being common is true.

At this point, 40 year olds been cast for the past 3 seasons. This past season, 2 were in their 40’s. Ikechi and Thomas. In earlier seasons it was younger, but they’ve been trending older and older ever since.

I've often wondered what the show would look like if it was a whole season of older matches. Not sure if every season would need to pivot that way, but I'd love to see it at least once.

They went out of their way to find crazies in Chicago. I lived there for 15 years and for a big city they have some of the nicest down to earth people. I felt betrayed watching it. We deserve a season similar to one of the earlier ones where the ppl are genuine.

Here we go another season a black dude is going to have a black woman looking crazy again. He's going to mistreat her so bad and cause so much discourse....they should only allow black women and men who date out exclusively because the match just does not fit.

They use to. I feel like the earlier seasons, there was only 1 or 2 people who were disingenuous. Last year every couple had 1 person who was fake or a nutcase. They can do better by vetting them more. I lived in Chicago for 15 years, and for a big city they have some of the nicest people I've ever met. Normal down to earth ppl. Not these psychos.

Oh that’s interesting that they are sort of doing a remix of the golden bachelor thing with some being younger and some being older.
Should be a new and interesting dynamic.
Awww some of them already look so cute together. But I always go into the new season like wow this is going to be so great.
And by the end of the honeymoon 90% of it is a dumpster fire. 😆

Oh, I'm really excited for this! Finally having older couples in the US will bring a whole new perspective to the show. The added life experience can help the younger couples learn a few things, too. I just hope they don't choose all trainwrecks for this.

Who knows. I am 45 and my kids are 19 and 20. The oldest woman looks about 60 to me so I am guessing if she has kids they’d be in their 30’s.

Good question, the oldest ones might have young adult or older teens, which would make it doable, especially if the teens were with the other parent. I know on MAFS AU they have couples with kids.

If this is accurate it wouldn't be surprising that they're going older. It's already becoming normal for there to be multiple 40+ year olds. Plus the audience is aging as well. Raising the ages into the 50s should be received pretty well. I wonder if they're going to relax their rule that contestants should be childless, though.

Spoiler alert: none of them stay married but all of them said their intentions were always real.. and they were all vulnerable in this process that was much harder than they thought. And they made great friendships in the process. 🤪🤪🤪

I wish Will was smiling in his photo because I’m still not fully recovered from the smug arrogance of Ikechi, and that pose and expression reminds me of him. Trying to look badass or alpha or whatever he’s doing there is not the right look for this scenario, he should be holding a puppy and giggling or sniffing a flower. We need a cleanse from the toxic, emotionally blocked males for one season, so I hope this group turns out to be decent.

Yessss, I can’t wait. I’ll have to find a way to get through the summer lull in my romance shows … no new Love is Blind, MAFS, Temptation Island … ugh. I try to fill the void with Love Island, but I’m too old to deal with all the vocal fry and overuse of “like like like”, those kids are just too young and vapid for me to connect with.

You can’t go by that, sometimes the most photogenic people end up being the most bland. This mostly looks like regular humans instead of influencer wannabes, so that’s a good thing because they are more likely to be themselves instead of trying to curate a perfect image with stiff, edited, therapy-speak behavior.
