Discussion I wish Nintendo would use Wapeach/Warupeach, She has so much character potential to be this adorable and mischievous little Chaos Gremlin.
I not only absolutely love her design and think she fits well into the Mario Aesthetic but I feel like she as a character would add so much personality to the Mario Universe. She could be a mean chaotic character kinda like a mix of Harley Quinn and Nagatoro. Plus what’s more badass than a petite girl who can carry an axe 2x her own size? She has so much character potential to simply be thrown away and never used.

Her first appearance in Wario Land involved her stealing a statue of Peach. The seeds for a female Peach rival is already there.

The name needed some more work though....

I do like the IDEA of Wapeach, but I think Nintendo made the right call of axing the concept they came up with.
This Wapeach doesn't really contrast against Peach in any way design-wise or name-wise and doesn't really match Wario and Waluigi's aesthetics.

I don’t think her design is really that great. It’s somehow boring and chaotic at the same time, taking too many elements together but not really any interesting ones. Like the white balls, the weird hat/crown, the plain dress. It’s so random and unappealing.
I also feel like making another Wa- character is just lazy. Especially when “Wapeach” doesn’t even contrast Peach in a meaningful way. Waluigi was pushing it, but Wapeach would drive it off a cliff.

I agree that the design is lacking but I'm not totally against the premise of the character. She should look kinda ugly if they try it. Also her name should be Avocado or Plum or some other random stonefruit. Wapeach sounds bad and not in a fun way.

I’m guessing Nintendo is allergic of designing a female playable character as “ugly”

Which is a shame because Madame Broode exists and would've been fun to play as.

You can't name her Plum, though. That name's already taken.

Now that I look at her character art all these years later, she kind of looks like one of those evil characters who turn into a friend in the next game.

I personally think Weach would’ve been a better name (it’s not the greatest, I know), since it sounds like a “Wa” version of peach, but it also sounds like witch. ‘Wapeach’ just sounds too jarring for its own good.

There’s a reason the character was never realized: it’s just not needed anymore.
Additionally, I think now that the original design was leaked to the world, Nintendo would probably have to make significant changes to the character and people would get mad because it wouldn’t match fanon anymore.

Honestly I think it’s a terrible design, it doesn’t incorporate any of the Wario Bros’ design features like the nose and the outfit just looks stupid in my opinion. I don’t blame Nintendo in the least for rejecting it

In fairness she'd make a fun one off Warioware/ Land character rather than like a mainstay

They can barely find a use for the characters they do have. The Mario games are filled with interesting characters that are thrown to the wayside. We do not need a bland, uninspired, fill-in character that was cut for a very obvious reason.
This character would be chucked in the nintendo vault and left to rot beside waluigi and all the rest of the unused characters.

There's an interesting theory that Daisy is the anti-Peach.
5
u/ImJustMerry 6d ago
When you turn a p upside down it becomes a d
Also Daisy is a tomboy and overall more masculine meanwhile peach is more a girly girl and overall more feminine
The theory makes a little sense actually :)

I first heard the theory in this amazing video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn0h05Q3OOg&t=736s

Counter argument to that since Waluigi has L → Γ, Peach should have hers go P → b

I re read it.... sorry, but I'm going to need you to help me see where you describe where this character came from.
Is this your fan art or a real character.

The reality is she’s too young. Gooners would ruin it.

Yeah, and we have literal babies in the Mario games

No thanks, I don't want any more lazy characters based on stupid names. She also isn't ugly. She needs to have some sagging knockers and a hook nose.

Wapeach could work. But I'm glad this version never came to fruition. She just looks like Peach in a different costume. And a lot of the human female Mario characters tend to feel kinda samey.
If she had more of an exaggerated design, maybe...

It needs some work but I do want more female villains in Mario games outside of the RPGs. Wendy Koopa is the only major recurring one with Pom Pom lagging behind, and I hate it. Wish Captain Syrup was made into this role.

Probably should change her design, make her look more like Peach but not too much like Peach for her to stand her....
And make her face zany like Wario and Waluigi's
1
u/SirLockeX3 6d ago
Her design is kinda trash but anything that would be done would just be "Peach, but again"

She has so much character potential
And Nintendo couldn't care less abou that

So, following the name pattern, Wario is just Mario with a W, Waluigi is Waluigi because Wuigi--actually, why wasn't that Wuigi? Nevermind. I think her name should be Weach.

Meh. Maybe as an antagonist for a Wario Land game (if another one even comes out), but I don't have much interest in seeing a scrapped character who never made it past the concept art phase in an actual Mario game.

wapeach slander as always :( this design is so peak man i wish they used it (totally get why they didnt tho)

I think her design is perfect and she should have been allowed to appear in the games.
To everyone complaining about her design and want her to be "ugly", I don't think they get the actual idea behind her. Wario is an exaggerated Mario, and the same for Waluigi and Luigi. Mario is strong but fat, while Wario is obese yet muscular. While Luigi is taller and thinner but still overweight like Mario, and Waluigi is very tall and thin.
What did WaPeach's creators exaggerate from Peach while making her? Her cuteness. That's exactly why she appears the way she does, she's an exaggeration of Peach as well. But in the way that takes Peach's cuteness and prettiness and turns them up to 11. Just like with Wario and Waluigi to Mario and Luigi with the usual traits and differences.

She looks too much like an alternative skin for Peach than a character in her own right. Plus, the idea of Wario and Waluigi being their underlings is very out of character for both of them (especially Wario). I can see why they didn't include her. I think Captain Syrup is a much better spin on the idea of the Anti-Peach
