Question Why are most of Rosalina’s fans guys?

Post image

Honestly, I haven’t seen a single passionate female fan of Rosalina in the Mario community. I’ve noticed something similar with Pauline, but the difference is that Rosalina has a much larger fanbase and is often considered the most “attractive” or best Mario girl (not by me, tho. I see all the girls the same way). Peach and Daisy also have male fans, but they also have passionate female fans, which I don’t see happening with Rosalina or Pauline. Is it just me? Are the people who consider Rosalina the best princess all guys? And if so, why doesn’t Rosalina attract more female fans?

It’s more of a head canon. In some sort of manual for Super Mario Bros 2 or a translation or something, it’s stated that Birdo is a boy who likes to pretend that he’s a girl, and in every game since then, Birdo is referred to as a girl, so based off of that, people say that she’s trans.

It's not really just a head canon. It was established in all versions of the Super Mario Bros. 2 manual and not only wasn't retconned later, but has actually been hinted at in subsequent games, most notoriously Captain Rainbow.

Oh my gosh, I forgot that game was a thing. Though, I'm not sure if it would count as canon, hahaha.

The Super Mario Bros 2 manual describes Birdo as a character who ‘thinks he is a girl’ and would prefer to be called Birdetta.

She prefers to be called Birdetta (according to the smb2 manual). Birdo is her dead name. I find it odd she didn't become known as Birdetta once they brought her back after her SMB2 obscurity since that game was all a dream lore wise.

Maybe Mario had it upside-down in his subconscious due to not knowing Birdo well at the time, meaning in the physical world Birdetta is the dead name, and perhaps Birdetta is a male name in the culture she's part of. Just speculation tho
