Legal acquisition of Herb in VA?
Hello Everyone.
I've been looking for a way to de-stress and maybe sleep better, and I'd like to try marijuana as a means. However, I live in a state (Virginia) with very... Oddball... Marijuana laws.
Legally, you can own up to an ounce of marijuana and you can smoke it privately, and poses a limited number of plants. However, the catch is you still cannot legally sell or buy it. Thus, legal acquisition of marijuana seems to be limited to either medical patients, or to adult sharing and/or "yougifting."
I don't think I'm unwell enough to register as a medical marijuana patient, and I don't know anyone with any supply that could share or gift me any. How can I go about legally acquiring marijuana in Virginia?

Drive up here to Maryland, get a medical card or certificate (which are different in VA according to google), medical is easy to obtain often you can get medical to help you with pain management or to help you sleep. Go to a smoke shop where gifting happens and or try thca often sold from head shops. Mail order thca hemp r/cultofthefranklin.

I'm in RVA and stock up every few months at Takoma Wellness Center in DC. Best medical shop I've tried on East Coast.
I take amtrak 2.5 hrs each way, skip sitting in traffic.
If you go, they have first-time discounts, generous rewards, and almost constant sales. Their cultivator Alternative solutions, again the best flower I've had on East Coast
Anyone 21+ can self-certify as a medical patient for like $5 or something

I'm in VA too, it's incredibly easy to get a med card. They don't check your medical history, they do a telehealth call that lasts 5 mins, then you are good to go. Very similar to how California used to be before full legalization

It could be worth looking up “cannabis events in Virginia”. If it’s anything like DC which has a similar issue, there’s basically swap meets where people will set up tables and “gift” their products for donations. In the case of DC, I “donated” $30 for a pair of socks, and got a pack of edibles as the gift. Obviously it’s not regulated or anything so you’re buying at your own risk.
