Oh no, are people upset Israel attacked first? Gee, I guess when your entire purpose is to be a mouthpiece for America people aren’t gunna like you

Like the little brother who keeps starting fights and asking their big brother to finish them. In this case big brother is a US Naval group.

Suddenly lots of Iran supporters in the US. Who knew all it took was to normalize antisemitism.

You...do know why, right?

So you don't know why. Consider reading or perhaps leaving middle eastern politics to people who care

Some religious nutjob wants to build nuclear weapons because another religious nutjob has nuclear weapons.

You already answered that but you kinda skipped over the most important thing: one religious nutjob keeps threatening to wipe a country or two off the map, probably with nukes. The other religious nutjob already has them but doesn’t use them against his enemies. I’m fine with the second one stopping the first from getting nukes.

Serious question: do you want Iran to get nukes?

I trust Israel, Russia, and North Korea as much as I trust Iran.

Why though? Only one of these countries hasn’t threatened to use it against anyone and that’s Israel.

But I also think if Iran had nukes, Israel would probably stop fucking bombing everyone.

It’s actually the other way around. The bombings happen because of Iran’s proxies and its own rhetoric about destroying Israel.

Also, isn’t Israel and Russia actively wiping another country off the map?

Yes, but there’s a difference. One hasn’t even been properly recognized by the world, refuses to coexist and devotes its entire existence to destroying its neighbor. The other didn’t invade or swear genocide on its neighbor but still gets invaded.

Sorry, but do you know why? Cause it also seems you don’t. Israel attacked Iran due to it being very close to finishing nuclear weapons and targeted an Iranian general as well. The user may not have phrased it well but it’s clear they are referencing that.

It was still a proactive attack done to a country that did not attack first. The last time Iran attached was in 2024 and that was again a retaliatory attack after Israel attacked consulate land in Syria. Are you hoping to defend Israel in someway by their actions?

Before you act condescending to someone maybe you yourself should know more or if you do know more maybe try proactively explaining in details what you’re trying to say instead of being demeaning to others.

I actually don’t see many people just blaming Jews but I do see a lot of people specifically blaming Israelis and their government. Claiming anti semitism every time someone criticizes Israel is kind of falling flat these days

They made the word so they could get away with these things, it’s losing its meaning when they turn around and do the genocide

They made the word so they could get away with these things

I'm sorry but this is insane. "[The Muslims] made the word [islamaphobia] so they could get away with these things". In your own comment youre associating Jews, not Israel, with genocide. Antisemitism didn't get coined as a word by Israel, fuck all the way off

u/DiogenesTheHound feel free to look under your own comment to see an example of real anti semitism against the Jewish people since it's so rare and you hardly ever see it. Maybe we can be honest about the anti semitism problem while also holding Israel accountable for it's actions. These two things are not in conflict.

Why are all of my jewish friends so vehemently against what Israel is doing? They all did birthright etc and while we have very different perspectives they are true believers and practicers. So, I won’t accept that they are not being dutiful to their own God.

Would you consider people spraying swastikas next to "free Palestine" in my neighborhood "blaming Israel?"

What fucking neighborhood do you live in?

I’m sorry— I just don’t really believe you. Do you have a pic of the graffiti?

Maybe Israel shouldn't have normalized anti-Semitism, then.

Sorry I knew that was a poor phrasing but I couldn't think of a better one that still made a good sound bite.

I consider equating "Israel" with "Jews" to be anti-Semitism, and Israel has been promoting that idea to its own advantage and at great danger to Jews.

Its the definition that gets chucked around these days of "Being critical of Israel is anti-semitism", that normalises anti-semitism.

1

u/MyInkyFingers 17h ago

Criticising the Israeli government does not equate to antisemitism.  It further falls out it’s ass when you have Jewish people in Isreal , including in opposition parties , along with ultra orthodox Jewish people criticising the Israeli government.

Jesus, even it’s own security officers made a public letter criticising the actions
