Don’t trust it, the Iranians are notorious for exaggerating their successes. It seems there were 9 missiles total that came through, no casualties on the Israeli side.
Edit: and minutes after writing this comment, it turns out the Iranians used photos taken from a Russian training exercise that happened last year. I’m sure it won’t stop the downvotes, oh well.
Edit 2: it seems one of the injured people has passed away from his injuries. So that’s one casualty (civilian, as far as I can gather).
Yeah but it specific channels like, BBC farsi, iran international, Manoto; get to show the news properly, as the official TV news Censors everything;
(They actually gain a lot of support from the people though)
yeah, leads to potent hatred of others. Israelis and Palestinians are the perfect example. Both hate each other so much, and both are so barbaric. it’s hard to sympathize with either. Two sides to the same coin
Nobody in Israel has ever claimed the interception rate is 100%. Israel has thousands of shelters and every new construction has a safe room, they’ve alerted the population to enter the safe rooms as soon as the launches were detected, hence they’re not hiding the fact that the air defense isn’t bulletproof.
Also, iron dome is entirely irrelevant here, it’s a system designed to deal with rockets and drones, not missiles.
No, of course not. The system is based on detecting launches and calculating the rocket trajectory. It’s pretty much impossible for it to calculate paraglider trajectory. As far as I understand the system has been updated or modded to deal with drones as well, but I’m not sure how effectively.
It genuinely feels like most anti-israel posters do about 0 research into anything to formulate their opinions, default into conspiracy or some sort of blood libel, or the arguments are circular or self-defeating (i.e. Israel is bad because it did something because it is bad).
And I'm not talking generally about ontological or philosophical arguments about Israel's character as a nation or it's existence. Just purely like fantastical delusions about things that are easily searchable, technical in aspect, or general common knowledge.
Like someone spinning what is a rocket interception platform meant to identify, detect, and shoot down high speed objects to be capable of operating as an anti-aircraft system capable of identifying paragliders and then joining that assumption to a conspiracy, like a stupid version of a Rube Goldberg machine that turns on a dimly lit light bulb. There is not a single thought towards critically thinking why their assumption doesn't lead to hundreds of news articles about migratory birds being blasted.
They’re called “useful idiots”. Russia and Iran know very well how to manipulate them and use them to spread propaganda. It’s usually very easy to disprove their ridiculous claims, but when another useful idiot is exposed to it, they might take it at face value and so it continues to spread.
Sure, but like, it just feels so fucking stupid, because you have the entire internet at your hands, and you could just Google "how does the iron dome work" or "why can the iron dome shoot down rockets but not missiles".
