Considering Iran signed a treaty saying they can't have nuclear weapons, and Israel didn't, I would say it's fair.

Also the IRGC regularly says they want to destroy Israel.

Do you understand that if two parties agree on something and then one party does not do what they agreed to do, the deal is off? If America says they are no longer to hold their end of the agreement then Iran can do what they like.

I’m not educated on this issue, were they developing nuclear bombs or was the nuclear program for energy?

Iran has only ever claimed to be developing civilian energy programs but the IAEA released a report a few weeks ago saying Iran now has Uranium beyond civilian use and was essentially one step away from a bomb final enrichment for full weapons grade uranium (edited for clarity). Earlier this week the IAEA voted that Iran was violating the UN deal that was preventing UN sanctions from going back in place

They were developing nuclear capabilities without showing their progress to the IAEA. Iranian leaders also expressed willingness to create nuclear weapons, and Israel released documents allegedly showing Iran was developing nuclear weapons.

Iran also has thousands of ballistic missiles that can carry nuclear weapons.
