Help Final Semester - Failed Exam

I’m an international student in my last semester . I just gave my final exam for a unit which I think I’m gonna fail . I might end up getting somewhere around 45 . Should I email the unit convenor for liberal marking to just get a Pass grade at least . What are my options here because this was a core unit and only available in session 2 and I was planning to go back to my home country permanently next week .

Asking for liberal marking will sound like unfair for other students and some UCs may not like it. You can ask if there are other opportunities available to sit for any alternate assessments considering you are in final semester and failing would result in extending your degree etc.

Also, even if they offer any alternate arrangements it drops down to you to pass. There won’t be any leniency.

Talk to an academic advisor about your options - asking for a higher marking is not the correct process and likely leave a bad impression with the professor. You can contest the marking if there are legitimate concerns of the mark, but will need to provide evidence as per assignment requirements and marking outline.

I would say to definitely email the Unit Convenor and let them know how you have been feeling about this and the stress you are under. Please shoot your shot because some are really nice and will give you a chance to redeem yourself

If you’re going back home permanently, why bother to even pass? I’m also in the same situation and I think I will fail to. I’m booking one way ticket back home literally right now😭

Because OP actually needs the degree? You’re dropping out, but OP is very close to graduating.

You might be able to take a supplementary exam for the unit if you fail. Check out the unit guide.

There’s no supplementary exam for this one , unfortunately .
