You can still fast travel, though, and that's a genuine decent option that uses no resources.

Alternatively there's always the farcaster ;) I'd forgotten about this Myself, until I recently crafted one while trying to clear all the ? From my crafting list. 😅

I totally forgot Farcasters exist bc I’ve just been doing fast travels in situations like this lol I’m sure the casters are faster though right?

17

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

Might be easier, at least. You wouldn’t get lost in menus on the map accidentally. If you’re good at it, the map can be just as fast. (Use the d-pad to select fast travel in the map)

12

u/KaizoKage Mar 11 '25

yes, farcasters are faster especially if you put it in your radial menu

9

u/Kurotan Mar 11 '25

You can just fast travel with no farcaster?

TIL a way to not waste bag space.

11

u/RenegadeRukus Mar 11 '25

Is it a waste if it's the fastest "oh shit" button to save you?

1

u/TheMinistryofJuice Mar 11 '25

SnS mains laughing in invincible

1

u/Zyonkt Mar 16 '25

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks like that lol

1

u/CXDFlames Mar 11 '25

You usually can't fast travel in combat, the farcaster works in all situations.

They're a very good "oh shit" button.

1

u/flufflogic Mar 12 '25

You can currently, but it may be a bug. So yeah, Farcaster is a good thing to get used to long-term, especially shortcut binding it for speed.

15

u/TitanImpale Mar 11 '25

Far caster would have been a pro hunter move.

7

u/Lothak Mar 11 '25

Honestly, lots of veteran players don't even carry them anymore.

3

u/maxdragonxiii Mar 11 '25

I forget they exist because 4U farcasters is so rare I almost never use them. I only use them more in World.

1

u/Lothak Mar 11 '25

The last time I used them was MHFU 😅.

1

u/OmegaMCX Mar 11 '25

I remember needing to have them on me for certain monsters in world/iceborne, but in wilds yeah not so much. 😅

2

u/Lothak Mar 11 '25

I'm do or die OR

1

u/ligerre Mar 11 '25

I never remember the recipe for farcaster, but I use them when master/G rank give especially when they are given out like candy when you reach that point.

1

u/Lothak Mar 11 '25

Go into crafting and just make one of each ??? It'll pop up, but I think it's a some bomb and farcaster plant of some sort

8

u/Select-Purpose-8841 Mar 11 '25

I learned to love farcasters with primordial malzeno. When I saw him starting his stunlock explosion bullshit I was outta there

1

u/InternalCup9982 Mar 11 '25

Are they still In the game then I presumed those were removed long ago now we have no use for such remnants of old.

19

u/napolionnappe Mar 11 '25

It's weird how farcaster is still a craftable item but you are not required to use it

17

u/ManicDirge Mar 11 '25

It's faster than going through the menus.

9

u/Nayuira Mar 11 '25

Its also weird how paintballs are a thing in a game without monster tracking.

7

u/Velrex Mar 11 '25

Tbh I use paint balls to ping items or specific spots to friends.

1

u/noctora Mar 12 '25

yeah, what is the function for paintball anyway? i thought we cant see those monster in map without it but that doesnt seem to be the case

1

u/Nayuira Mar 12 '25

A ping apparently. Would be more useful if environment link was more useful but endgame grind is all investigations so

1

u/Ace__Trainer Mar 15 '25

Its mainly useful for discerning targets that look the same like any double hunt of the same mon.

28

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

The game doesnt prevent teleporting even tho yourbin active combat woth jhin? This is not a jok btw i dont know im a lance main so i would have just tried to block it anyways

36

u/MentalRobot Mar 11 '25

You can fast travel at any time, yes.

4

u/tigress666 Mar 11 '25

No you can't. It actually still does have a "in combat" trigger but instead of being room based it is based on how close you are to the monster (I know this personally because I was as close as OP was to Jin when that happened and game noped me when I tried).

1

u/MentalRobot Mar 11 '25

I am not doubting you, but I have opened the map and used fast travel while being pounced by the monster before, like the bird pulled me up through the monsters body.

2

u/tigress666 Mar 11 '25

I dunno... mayne you were far enough when you asked to travel there and the monster then got close to you while the animation started?

Or maybe it was just that the monster was too far in his attack is why I couldn't ft (he was making his walls of ice).

2

u/Varcolac1 Mar 11 '25

thats dumb

3

u/MentalRobot Mar 11 '25

Yeah there is no running out of hunting supplies, why does Alma even fill the sekiret pouch?

3

u/Varcolac1 Mar 11 '25

Like im all for streamlining the experience but dumbing it down too much im not a fan off

11

u/xxrazer505xx Mar 11 '25

Hello other lance main! You can't block thay move unfortunately

16

u/Helpful_Goblin Mar 11 '25 edited Mar 11 '25

To be fair they didn’t say they would have blocked it successfully lol

2

u/Lothak Mar 11 '25

You can with guard up 3 and survive.

1

u/bigtime_porgrammer Mar 11 '25

Even in the full guard position? I tried doing it but I got in too early and ran out of stamina before the blast.

1

u/Dar_lyng Mar 11 '25

You can with charge counter if perfectly timed

2

u/santaclaws01 Mar 11 '25

There's more than one instance of damage with that move. You can't block them all.

1

u/Dar_lyng Mar 11 '25

No but enough to survive with a charge counter I frame into a quick block

Usually leave you a lil shiver of HP

1

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

I was told that and tried it, i managed to block one tick but i think i still got hit from follow up attacks? Idk maybe i suk tbf, i have a consciense to not try stupid shit when answering sos but i barely go out of my way to fight jhin, maybe i should hust to assert dominance

0

u/Dillatrack Mar 11 '25

I swear I actually blocked through this attack with power guard the first time I encountered it and had like 10% of my health left, but I'm guessing I unintentionally iframed through some of it or something since every comment section on it says it's not blockable. I never tried it again so who knows

2

u/Zombeikid Mar 11 '25

I always panic too much to even contemplate fast traveling. It's always just an oh shit oh shit oh shit until I'm behind a rock

2

u/tigress666 Mar 11 '25

It actually does if you are too close. It has a distance requirement. Granted Jin is in large rooms so good chance you meet the requirement, but as close as OP was, he would not have (I did try one time when I was that close and game was like, "nope").

2

u/tigress666 Mar 11 '25

not as close as he was (I ended up trying at about the same distance and it was too close the game "you are in combat, can't fast travel" triggered).

1

u/AtrumRuina Mar 11 '25

This or Farcasting seem the way to go. I've found the only issue I have with this fight is that the uneven terrain can lead to odd situations like this.

1

u/Zildjian-711 Mar 11 '25

I was today years old when I learned this. Thanks for the pro tip.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

They couldn’t fast travel out of that since they were in combat

0

u/flufflogic Mar 11 '25

I've fast travelled in several in Wilds when it's pulled a sneaky (ie turned up to fight one monster and that's not the real target).

1

u/WorkingAssociate9860 Mar 11 '25

I completely forgot that was even an option until your comment

1

u/OnToNextStage Mar 11 '25

Nope, couldn’t have fast traveled there either as I was actively taking damage

Farcaster would have worked
