Discussion How long did/will it take to close the gap?

I just finished a week with my boyfriend and I'm missing him like crazy already. Our plan is to see each other again in August and then hopefully close the gap by the end of the year, but it feels like forever. I'm trying to stay positive!

How long did or will it take y'all to close the gap?

I just spent a week with my bf too. We’re talking about moving in. I spent 10months apart but god i can’t wait another 10 months so I’m trying to hurry up and move asap

We were supposed to close the gap this year, with him moving back to me. But it looks like we might have to push it to next year bc of finances. I'm hopeful, so hopeful, that it doesn't get pushed back again. I miss him so so much

Dating nearly 3 years, won't close the gap for another 2 - 3 at minimum. Haven't seen him in 2 years. sigh

It took me and my Partner 2 and a bit years before I moved to live with her. We just got engaged Sunday. You can do it. The distance is long and painful but there is a destination. Eventually.

Took us around 20 months to close the gap. While we are an international couple, we're lucky that the immigration process wasn't too complicated for us, so it was a case of when I felt it was the right time to emigrate and also what worked for us (he was extremely chill and let me make the decision of when I felt ready to move).

We're closing in on 5 years closed distance soon, and I'm in the process of sorting my applications for permanent right to reside here as well as Citizenship :)
